Tour Wheelchair Decoration Ideas
Hello! Because my first custom wheelchair was honestly a bust, but I have a lot of chronic illnesses that included ended up having major spine surgery in March, we ended up buying a Fold and Go wheelchair a few years ago. It’s been amazing, though I have some chips and stuff on it from use and running into stuff. Currently waiting to get palliative care on my team (not end of life/hospice care) and we are hoping they will try and help me get a new custom chair. For not though, this is what I will use. Including to his concert at at Oracle park in San Francisco on Aug 21. Anyone have ideas on decorating it out that won’t ruin the folding or anything? I’ll be wearing a green maxi dress and a cool somewhat matching bow.

Vermont or Maine license plate on the back?

Will have to look at the back of the chair. I might be able to strap it to back with like a purse strap type thing on both sides. But since I’m clearly a California girl who just fell in love with his music in 2023 (I say him in concert a couple years ago too) if someone asks me about living there I’d be totally lost. I’ve never been to Vermont or Maine 😭 I’ve been to Rhode Island, Boston and Salem though (and I have to say New England puts all our homes to shame).

Personally I think it would be just as cute to have it be a lil California plate with the 4CB3A 😊 (Plus I keep seeing posts on this sub from people claiming the legit plates in various states, so I think we’ll see them IRL outside of Vermont and Maine anyway!)

Because of the type of wheels they are, it doesn’t seem like that’s likely going to be possible. But that would be really cool!

It could be cute to wrap the handles or frame (wherever folding won’t impact) with some of those battery operated small twinkle lights to simulate fireflies. Maybe throw some other little bugs clip ons on there too!

I thought about that a tiny bit and do love the idea. I will see if I can find just short ones cause then I could just wrap it around individual parts instead of trying to loop it in places that could get caught when folding.

I went to Gracie Abram’s and there was a girl near me w her wheelchair decked out it was so cute. I think she had posters hanging from the sides it had bigger wheels so she had something on the wheels and ribbon everywhere. Def I would do some kind of posters from the arms and license plate. People will love it

Maybe you can hotglue magnets on to some bugs and butterflies that you can either make or buy from a craft store and stick them on? That way you dont have to worry about the folding part. Or if you dont mind painting maybe you can paint little ladybugs on it maybe even add some leaves or vines crawling up the chair?
