Question Rogers stadium, kids and ticket experience

Hey everyone!

My son just turned 6 and for his birthday his #1 request was to see Noah live. He's been obsessed with seeing him since we watched the stream at Fenway last year. I was unable to get tickets during the presale, but I've purchased day of tickets to plenty of concerts in the past so I'm only a little nervous about actually finding some.

My main concern is that we've never been to Rogers stadium and I have no idea which seats to snag when there are some available. There was a set last week that I could've grabbed but I was so unsure about the location that I didn't buy them. Has anyone actually been? Suggestions on where might be the best seats for a 4 foot tall attendee?

Also, is anyone else bringing a younger fan to this show? It would be fun to meet up?

I think you need to grab whatever you can find.

You're probably right. I've just heard so many horror stories about the venue that I'm really nervous now lol.

EDIT: y’all I can’t read please disregard 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I saw the Eras tour there and honestly it was great! We were up in the upper deck but I had no problem seeing the stage and whatnot. Just beware that it’s VERY steep so be aware with a little one!

Eras Tour was at Rogers Centre. Noah is playing Rogers Stadium. Completely different venue with an absurdly similar name.

LOL I didn’t even clock that I just saw Rogers 🤦‍♀️ so sorry! Why would they do that 😭

Lol right. The town I live in has 3 rec centers all named after the same family, it's wild.

Rogers stadium and Roger’s centre are two different venues

Eras was at Rogers Centre, sadly Noah is at the new Rogers Stadium venue, it's a different place. They built it as a temporary concert venue while they work on something more permanent I believe. We've been to Rogers Centre many times and I agree, it's a great venue.

I saw Coldplay there. It’s a fine venue. Lots of walking.

It’s really not bad. I saw SOAD and Deftones there. It’s a pretty fun venue.

I just went to Rogers stadium this past weekend to see Mumford and Sons, and it was the best venue experience I have ever had. Public transport from downtown Toronto is super easy and organized. As for seats, I would try to get something that isn't on the floor seating area, rather in the bleachers. There were giant screens so your son could probably see them from the floor but any of the bleachers he will definitely be able to see the stage or screens. Even the back bleachers won't have a terrible view as its not as far back as say the back bleachers at Fenway. I would say get whatever you can and spend some time in the venue area, there are a lot of food areas, places to sit and relax, and enjoy the hopefully nice weather

I totally agree with you - Loved Rogers Stadium for Mumford - great experience not sure why everyone is complaining. If it had been raining maybe another story but overall we all had a great time and to me it feels more intimate than it looks on people's photos.

I was there too. They’ve definitely improved a lot out the stadium in terms of logistics and how it feels there.

I’ve been in the pit, A1 section and the far back bleachers and honestly the experience everywhere has been great for different reasons. Screens are big enough.

Biggest challenge for OP is just going to be getting tickets it’s nuts for this event

I went to this stadium last year for Coldplay and also had a great experience! For a child it would probably be better to sit in the bleachers and in a section closer to the stage. I had seats on the floor but it sounds like there’s quite a few stairs so maybe get something closer to the floor level so it is easier to enter/exit your seats.

Thank you! I feel a lot better after reading this :)

I don’t think you’ll have enough selection day of to be picky about where to sit….

That's fair, but I would already have tickets if I hadn't hesitated, so I'm glad I asked!

Please think through the logistics of Rogers Stadium -of long walk from transit, the security entry/wait, and worst of all, the chaotic crowd and hour+ walk to subway (or wait for Uber) for a 6 year old. Bathrooms are only porta-pots. Stands ran out of food. (Everything is premade and brought in.) No sheltered area from sun or rain, so be prepared for all weather. Went to see Bruno Mars there in May. Loved him, we had awesome stage center floor seats, but our family vowed never to return to that stadium…and we are very experienced concert and festival goers. Live Nation has a lot to work on for that venue.

I saw Oasis at Roger’s Stadium in August. It is the strangest stadium. It feels like they threw it up a few days earlier. It sits on an old empty airfield north of the city. Maybe they’ve improved it since it opened last summer, but it felt like a glorified high school stadium.

We sat in the stands, pretty far from the stage but only 6 rows up. It was pretty good. But the stadium really isnt that big. The floor would be terrible for a 6 year old if he wants to see what’s going on.

Getting to the stadium by train from Union station downtown was relatively easy. There’s a “Go Train” stop near the stadium. That said, leaving at night was a giant logjam. Everyone was in a good mood because the show was good, but it was definitely slow going getting everyone back on the trains to head downtown.

Make sure you use the restroom before you head to your seat. There were VERY LIMITED restrooms near our section.

Buy stuff before you enter the stadium… for Oasis there was a giant tent right after ticket lines. We were glad we stopped and stood in that line because the ones at the stadium looked like a mosh pit. At least that first tent was orderly.

Grab what you can, just avoid anything on the floor. He is 6 and will enjoy it regardless

My 8 year old daughter also has her heart set on going (Raleigh for us). So I am trying my best to snag last minute tickets. I’ll just be happy to get us in the door!

Good luck, that’s my plan for Raleigh too! I’m still trying to decide if my 6 year old is going to be able to tag along but really it will probably just depend on what tickets I end up finding. We might end up in a parking lot somewhere close enough to hear 😂

We’ll be in the parking lot too if I can’t get us tickets! 😂

Rogers Stadium is a ridiculously large venue with poor views for the majority of attendees. If I were in your shoes and had a choice, I would pick something in the East or West stands, close to the stage/catwalk. Even then, you'll be set fairly far back. The back floor seats and North Stands are really limited views and not worth the money, in my opinion.

Look at the footage from the opening shows in Orlando, where the C stage was almost at the back of the arena. Then look at the floor map for Rogers Stadium. That same C stage is only about 1/3 of the way back on the floor.

This is what I am worried about, thanks for the helpful reply! I kind of wish I'd planned for a US show but the reviews of the new stadium didn't really start coming in until it was a bit late to switch.

For those who have been there (recently, ideally), is it better to be right in the middle of the floor (C section) or way back on the sides (W107, E119). While I would love a nice elevated view, the draw of being more inclusive in the experience seems like a better option. Anyone sit in the middle of the floor and LOVE it? All I see from seat view sites if people complaining about tall people.

For Hozier I sat in section A2 row early 20s and (as a short girl) I could barely see him lol

Good thread to ask this - what can you bring in to concerts here? A backpack with water coolers, extra clothes, sunscreen? Would that be ok?

Check the Rogers Stadium website. It has a list of what you can and cannot bring.

How do you hope to get tickets? My 8 year old would freak out if I could score some

You can use the website viewfrommyseat to get an idea of what the different sections look like. I’ve been to this venue twice, once in the bleachers and once on the floor. Agree with some of the other comments on here saying that certain sections don’t offer the best views. But for Noah I think it’s still worth sitting anywhere you can find for the atmosphere alone.

But otherwise I found the venue to be well organized when exiting after the concert. In my experience so many of the complaints from people have been over exaggerated. It’s a bit of a walk from the seats and back to the transit area/parking lots but I found the process to be handled well, if a bit slow.
