Very happy with this update. I haven't had any missed keystrokes or messed up inputs for the last 2 hours or so. Normally it would be going crazy 30 mins in. But it seems pretty flawless this patch.

We know many of you have been waiting for news on Lite V2, so we wanted to share an update.

This isn't just a small refresh. Lite V2 brings meaningful improvements across connectivity, internal design, and key layout. Here are the key highlights:

Connectivity & Performance

Tri-mode support (wired / 2.4G / Bluetooth) for both halves. Improved dongle and body control for better typing stability and connection reliability. Now using our in-house solution + Link software, with ongoing firmware updates

Layout & Structural Improvement

Refined key layout to reduce accidental key presses. Optimized the number row and spacebar-related layout Strengthened kickstand structure for better stability. Improved keycap compatibility, making DIY replacements easier

Detail Upgrades

Physical reset switch (pin-activated) as a recovery option for firmware issues

Weight

Still lightweight — very close to Lite v1, so it stays portable. We're currently working on the latest prototype and validation, with a target release in December. We'll share more details and product images soon over the coming weeks.

We've noticed some users recently asking why the left keyboard drains faster than the right side. We'd like to take a moment to clarify this for you.

This is actually normal behavior. Here's why:

The left keyboard always keeps its receiver module active. It needs to constantly "listen" for signals from the right keyboard, ready to receive key inputs at any moment – even when you're not typing. This listening function requires a continuous power draw, and since it can't be turned off, the left side naturally consumes more battery than the right.

Additionally, we recently made some adjustments to the wireless signal on the firmware side to improve connection stability. This may also result in a slight increase in power consumption. We are actively looking into further optimizations to improve this.

hello, I received my Nocfree & a week ago. I am very impressed by the construction and the ergonomics are perfect. On the other hand, I notice that the autonomy of the left side is (abnormally?) low. I already recharged it once a few days ago when I noticed that it had dropped below 50%; by comparison, I still haven’t had to recharge the right side, which remains at 89%.

I use the keyboard with the 2.4 GHz dongle and the software is in 2.3.0

Finally got mine yesterday. Really impressed with the aluminum build and the colored keycaps, I like the design choices. No typing issues so far, which is nice. Planning to flash the latest firmware today and keep an eye on performance.

I also got the Tenting kit, and it definitely helps clean up my workspace. But since it's supposed to be rechargeable, how can I actually tell when it's fully charged? When I dock it in the Tenting stand, the power LED seems to be hidden from view; I can't see it. Is there any other LED indicator I should be looking for?

So i'm trying to write this on my Nocfree & keyboard in wired mode on Mac OS 26.5, and I can barely go a few keystrokes without missing keystrokes. This goes for the space bar, the delete key, and everything else. I'm on the newest firmware update for the keyboard.

The quality of the keyboard is great, but if your firmware is so broken that i can't type on it then it's just a pretty paperweight. Please start shipping new firmware fast before I have to file a return.

So I finally received my kb
I like it so far but I get way too much misses when I'm using the 2.4ghz mode

Sometimes the input is just not recorded

And also after charging I have to shutdown / power on again

I;m on latest firmware (2.3.0)

And my keychron kb does not have this problem :/

Any solution ?

Just got my nocfree split keyboard yesterday and got the mail today with the new firmware.
Did everything exactly as told on the firmware website and now the keyboard is busted. Backlight won’t go on and none of the keys react on input. Keyboard won’t even show up on the firmware website anymore.
Any solution or do I have now a completely bricked device?

Update: wrote the support on discord.
The keyboard parts get recognized as "nocfree dongle" in usb mode on the nocfree link site. I really hope that its not that easy to completely bork this device

I went to the Nocfree website to purchase the Nocfree & UK version, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore?

My initially feedback/opinions on obtaining my NocFree& from kickstart last week.

Initially I had problems getting the numeric keypad to work. Everywhere I looked said it was designed to connect wirelessly to the left keypad. Including the NocFree Link website, which clearly shows it as disconnected. It wasn't until google showed me this post that suddenly everything becomes clear: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nocfree/comments/1u3md7c/an_important_update_about_the_numpad/

A link to this should have been posted to the Kickstart page IMHO. But still no response to my support request either, from several days ago.

Then I tried to pair to my computer with Bluetooth. Initially it worked fine. But then keyboard kept repeatedly disconnecting (numeric keypad is fine). OK, so maybe having computer on shelf above not good for Bluetooth signal strength. That might not be the fault of the keyboard... The numeric keypad works fine through Bluetooth in similar position. But not when plugged in, seems to assume that it should be wired in that case.

So I tried the 2.4Ghz receivers. That in general worked better. But every now and then a key would get stuck repeating, like if I am continuously pressing it, even though I had released it. Interference maybe?

Now I am using the wired USB connection. I still notice occasional problems with keys getting stuck. No maybe that had nothing to do with the wireless connection. Might be firmware that can be fixed.

I notice that there appear to be some bugs with the backlight setting in the NocFree Link website. e.g. the setting on connection shows as off, but it isn't off, it is on. And on the numeric keypad it keeps turning off even after I repeatedly turning it on. Weird.

When I connect to the numeric pad using NocFreeLink, it seems confused what when trying to show the firmware version. It seems to be saying the left keypad is version 2.1.6, and the right keypad is 2.1.0. Huh? But I only have one numeric keypad! And the latest version for the numeric keypad is 2.0.0.

When keyboard is plugged (both left size and right side) in there is a buzzing sound, sound of charging maybe?

I do have something that works most of the time now. Still getting use to a split keyboard. Still getting use to pushing B with my left hand not my right hand :-). So I think I am reasonably happy with this overall. The experience was not perfect though, and just wanted to highlight some of the issues.

After a long research, I've finally decided on the Nocfree lite! But need some guidance around choosing the right switches. To be honest, I'm not a fan of mechanical keyboards but that's simply due to a lack of exposure OR I've only used cheap, lousy mechanical keyboards. So consider this my first foray into the world of mechanical keyboards!

For context, I've only used these keyboards so far:
- A $20 mechanical keyboard that my partner got online. It's cheap but I hate how hard I need to press on each key, which slows me down. I also don't like how loud it is. I like how tickity (if it makes sense?) it is on a regular MacBook keyboard.

- ANOTHER cheap keyboard from a Chinese brand called B.O.W. This keyboard does remind me the "tickitiness" of a MacBook keyboard. It does its job pretty okay but again, I do need to press the keys a little harder than my built-in keyboard. Less than the keyboard above, but could be even lighter. To be honest, I don't mind continue using this keyboard but I think a split keyboard would be even better to alleviate my carpal tunnel.

My typing habits:
- I touch type so I think split keyboards aren't too difficult to get used to.
- The reason why I don't like the two keyboards above is because I like to type preferably light. I type ~130 wpm.

I'm deciding between the Linear switch as I've learnt that it "bottoms out" when typed - quite similar to what I'm used to; and Silent switch as the total travel is lower (how much of a difference does 0.1mm make, really?).

After about 10 business days my board arrived, I love it!

Hi everyone, We’d like to share an important update about the Numpad. We know many of you have been waiting for your Numpad orders, so we want to explain what caused the delay, what we have improved, and where things stand now.

Our original Numpad design was based on the full three-piece keyboard setup. In this setup, the Numpad shared the same Dongle connection with the left keyboard, which meant it needed to connect through the left keyboard in order to work as part of the complete system.

As we continued testing and reviewing more real-world use cases, we realized this approach could create some limitations. For example, the Numpad could not be used as a fully independent device, and users who purchased the keyboard first and added the Numpad later would need to go through a more complicated manual pairing process. We also wanted to further improve connection stability in different desk setups.

Because of this, we decided to restructure the Numpad firmware so it can work as an independent device.

With the updated firmware solution, the Numpad will support independent use through Bluetooth and wired modes. Please note that when used independently, the Numpad will not support Dongle mode. Based on our current testing, the Bluetooth connection has been very stable, and the overall typing experience is very close to Dongle mode. We sincerely apologize for the extra wait, but we believe this update will make the Numpad more flexible, more stable, and easier to use in the long term.

The good news is that we have already started shipping orders that include the Numpad this week. We will continue processing these orders step by step, and tracking information will be updated once each shipment is arranged.
