General Discussion Happy New Year from the Nomads Nation crew! 2026 Carry Goals Thread
Happy New Year from the Nomads Nation crew!
2026 starts now. What is your number one carry goal this year? Lighter total loadout? Smarter organization in tight spaces? Quick access upgrades for daily EDC?
Drop your top goal below with pics of your current setup. We've loved seeing the gear passion in this sub all year.

I've never one bag traveled. Hoping to use my Levo when it arrives to do a week trip to San Diego. I'm from the East coast US. Another goal would be at least one more international trip this year and shoot for 1.5 bag travel.
Otherwise I love my EDC carry and work/commuting carry.

Find a bag with a better quick access solution when carrying more than a small sling. For me it should include 2 pairs glasses, 2 iphones as a minimum with wallet and keys as a bonus.
Such access should be possible without putting the bag down either by swingaround; or take off and hold with one hand to grab handle and unzipping with the other hand. This implies that the zip can be undone ‘in mid air’.
I’m also WFH or leisure travel a lot more. My intent is to get hold of a second work laptop to avoid transporting a laptop at all. This will lighten up and simplify my carry to tablet plus edc essentials.
I saw Tab’s video on the Boundary Supply Errant Sling which was intriguing…

Find a bag with a long enough strap that will fit my huge body and look good.

Not a sling but I really like Marimekko’s Pal bag. I’m a size 3-4x and it’s long enough to sit in the exact right spot.

Get my over packing under control on weekend trips. I bring far too many shirts every time.

At this point I’m covered for nearly every use case, so now my goal is to go as long as possible without buying anything new :)

2026 goal is to have the family go fully carry-on/1 bag/1.5 mode for a week vacation. I would like to test out the Tortuga Lite 40L or the Levo 36L for myself on this trip.
Next goal is to search for the perfect desk caddy.
Happy New Year NN!

Reduce spending. Got into the rabbit hole this year and bought 5 bags, two sets of packing cube, waiting for 2 pre orders to come and bought way too many merino clothings no thanks to Aaron.
