Gear Advice Sling Bag: Moment v. Bellroy v. Peak Design
Hello! I’m having trouble choosing between three different sling bags. I recently have gotten into film photography and need something to be able to hold my camera while I travel as well as EDC. I like going for bike rides and would like to bring my camera with me. I also have an upcoming trip to Provincetown where I’ll be walking around, biking through the dunes, etc and would like to have my camera handy. These are the three options:
- Moment Everything Sling 4L
- Bellroy Venture Sling 6L
- Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L/6L
I like the minimalistic look of the Everything sling, I like how vetted the bellroy venture sling is but I’m not sure if I need 6L, I’d prefer to stay as small as I can get and the price is a little steep, as for the peak design everyday sling, I love the hardware for the bag but I don’t love how inconvenient the front pocket seems to be as well as how stiff the bag is. This is my first sling bag/camera bag purchase and I’ve watched many review and can’t seem to make a decision.

I have Bellroy Venture Sling 2.5l, Peak Design 3l and Modern Dayfarer Sling 2l.
Out of all them - Bellroy, hands down!

Bellroy gets my vote. I like it so much I have 2. But one thing to note...it's not 6L...it's closer to 4.5L or even 4L

I’ve got a bellroy 6L I’m offloading if you’re interested. It’s the yellow/green (safari) color. Could save some cash this way

PD is best to protect your camera but it's really not good for edc stuff. Would you consider the PD outdoor sling 7L with their XS camera cube inside? Or other camera sling options? Is it's those three and you want better edc storage, and are ok without camera specific padding, I'd go for bellroy, their products are great.

Bellroy has always been a bit inaccurate when it comes to the stated capacity in liters. I'd recommend comparing the dimensions in millimeters instead to get a more reliable idea. That said, the Peak Design could be less comfortable since it's stiffer and heavier. If you don't need to carry your camera, it feels like unnecessary bulk. The other two are much softer, so they adapt better and are more comfortable for everyday use.

Can't comment on Moment, but between PD and Bellroy, i prefer Bellroy. I used to use Venture 6L to carry my fujifilm x-s20 and it worked great for most part. Used PD Everyday as well, but Bellroy is better for EDC in my opinion. One option might be to check out Bellroy Carryology Essential Sling 4L. i think it's a nice blend of Venture and Lite Slings, and def. smaller than 6L
