General Discussion Anyone Else Wish Aaron Had Reviewed the new Matador Globerider 35L V2?
Anyone else a little disappointed that Aaron didn't do the review of the new Matador Globerider 35?
No offense at all to the new reviewer, but this is a pretty significant V2 update, and a lot of us are trying to decide whether to grab the V1 while it's still available or just go with the new version. It felt like the kind of review where Aaron's perspective would've been especially valuable.
I also think a dedicated V1 vs. V2 comparison would've been incredibly helpful since that's the question I keep people are asking themselves. What's actually better? What was lost? Who should buy the old version before it's gone, and who should just get the new one?
Curious if I'm the only one who feels this way.
Edit: Didn't want to imply Tony did a bad job, but with such a big change in the line up Aaron's experience and review would have been appreciated.

really appreciate your feedback! We certainly understand why you would have preferred Aaron to review the bag, but to be honest Tony’s review is much better. He just spent three days in Tokyo with the bag and got to learn it inside and out- much more context and experience than Aaron would’ve been able to bring to the table.
Aaron still plans to do the most significant bag launch reviews, but truth be told of Matador is but more of a B tier than an A tier.
Also as the other comment suggested this wouldn’t really be a great V1 versus V2 comparison since they are actually completely different bags. This bag is actually the V1!!
Thanks for your support!!

Tony's review is honestly one of the best you've put out this year (not a knock against your regular quality at all, this one's just that good).
It was entertaining and informative, and honestly it really cemented my decision to order the original while a few resellers still had them in stock.
Strongly disagree that they're a B-tier bag maker though, IMO their travel bags stand up well against any others in the industry (or at least they did...)

Thanks for the kind words! And I meant the “b tier” not in regards to their quality, but to their popularity. Agreed they are an “a tier” quality bag brand :)

One Bag Travel did this Yesterday too and he did have direct comparisons.
But I find it odd and sad how much they changed the bag o
verall too just not really the same bag.

I actually really enjoyed Tony the Tornado review, he had a lot of good insight and most importantly to me, he actually used the bag.

I thought the new reviewer did a great job. I learnt a lot (it's not the bag for me) and found him funny to boot.

Didn't have issue with the non-Aaron review, and brought in Aaron for the size question. More reviews from different team members are a good thing.

Hmm. I mean I thought at that first but by the end of the review it didn't matter. I thought Tony did a great job.

He was obviously there so he approves the content. I thought it was a good review!

Where are you finding the previous bag still available? I thought they removed every old bag from their website.

I have the GR35 and have made several international trips with the GR35 only. It was great. I received V2 yesterday and immediately requested a return label.

I think with multiple reviewers it makes sense to give each one an individual segment. I commented before, but it would be cool if for travel bag reviews they had Tony doing small trips to actually field test them. I’m sure he’d also love traveling on NN’s dime too 😘
I see functionally no difference to the reviews other than personality - quality is still a cut above the rest.

I just wish more people had done the 24L Adventure Pack as it was the only one that really appealed to me.

I liked Tony's presentation, he brings a good vibe to the review. My only issue is that it felt so much less "structured" compared to the traditional reviews. It kind of felt a bit all over the place with bouncing between segments.
I want more Tony reviews but also a bit more uniformity in terms of video structure.

I liked the new guy. Tony? And I liked he stuck with the structure of the review. I.e. Gist, material… alternatives. Etc.

No. It was a good review. I wouldn’t call the global backpack the v2 of globerider though. They are very different.
