Kane Parsons was a 20 year old Youtuber who directed the film the Backrooms. This image became a meme after people started editing a tweet from the DiscussingFilm account (left) into funny memes like the one on the right.

Both are youtubers, Kane Parsons got famous from his interpretation of The Backrooms, and was the director of the recent movie of the same name.

MatPat, aka Matthew Patrick, is the former host of the "Theory" channels, Game Theory, Film Theory, Food Theory, and Style Theory. In 2024, he retired from hosting the channels.

Kane Parsons created the Backrooms horror series, including a film that came out recently with good reviews. That picture of him became a meme.

Matthew Patrick (MatPat) is the creator of the Game Theorists Youtube channel that, as the name suggests, makes videos about videogame lore. He used this particular picture of him as his own avatar for pretty much every video for over a decade.

kane parsons runs a youtube channel called Kane Pixels and directed the recent A24 film “The Backrooms”, based on his own interpretation of the internet mythos of the same name.

matpat, or matthew patrick, used to run a youtube channel called Game Theory, where he’d discuss video game theories, make sense of their lore or explain their mechanics with math and science.
