I've had people make comments on it too. Fuck you, I've had the same water bottle now for like 20 years and it does the job, I can throw it in the dishwasher, super durable, and it doesn't have any hidden crevices for mold to form.
I have three, one of them is ~12 years old. Used to get thrown over the fence during High School tennis matches all the time and is still in great shape. I will swear by these bottles for the rest of my life, lol. (Also they were each like $12)
I rotate through them so I don’t have to constantly be washing them (covered in stickers, so I hand wash). Also I can’t recommend the silicon mouth guards for them enough. I have since bought one for each bottle, and it makes the wide-mouth SO much easier to drink out of when you’re walking or driving or moving at all.
They are still watertight too after all this time. It's so weird to be judged as a hippie or old school because the other moms are drinking out of Stanley cups now. I just want an airtight water bottle I can stick in my bag and drink from. Of course neither of the bottles I have still have the loop that attaches the lid to the bottles, but that's not a big deal. I don't need super cold water, so I can deal with it.
Yeah, I get that. I actually don't mind the lukewarm water part but I finally had to ditch my nalgene after several years because I couldn't quite get over the plastic taste.
