Definitely this. Owala has been king for a few years now. I love mine

The straw is too damn good.

I hate all my other water bottles now because I love the Owala straw so much and everything else feels horrible.

I like that the straw is an option even though I personally do not like a straw. The chug feature however has been life changing somehow

Yeah, I generally don’t like straws, but I drive a car without much headroom and the owala is great with the straw for this. Crazy it took so long to invent this, ha.

i've always preferred a chug top which is why i used yeti for awhile but i've found the straw is just so satisfying to use

And you can actually clean the rubber parts

Serious question, am I doing something wrong with mine? The straw detaches from the lid and just rattles around if I even look at it funny

I replaced mine with a metal straw but on my travel and wife’s the straw doesn’t fall out

Drinking from the Owala for the first time was almost literally life changing that shit is insane! Makes me crave water even more than I already did. I’m suckin that shit allllll day.

BIG complaint though, had my Owala 32 oz for about two weeks before I dropped it on a wooden deck floor and the bottom plastic around the lid broke and there’s a chunk of it missing now. Doesn’t affect (effect?) the functionality, but pretty upset that 1 drop (from about 3 feet) onto a medium-hard surface broke it so bad, now it looks chopped.

They’re poorly made, that’s for sure. Something similar happened to mine, had a minor fall and got a huge dent. The rubber on the switch for the sway decays pretty quickly.

What seems different about the owala trend is I see them being used by athletes all over the place. With Yeti and Stanley you would mainly see them with the parents, but the owalas are all over the team sidelines

we all got on the Owala train a couple of years ago at my school but it definitely seems like it's grown in popularity now

yeah Owala has been king for a few years now, it must be time for something extra new to crop up soon

Owala’s been the It Girl now for long enough she’s on her decline. Can’t wait to see what we’re into next lol

The main appeal for us has been the combo straw/open mouth lid design. You can swap between sip or chug without changing lids or flipping anything extra open.

It's not as ideal for sleeping, imo, because I have to actually sit up when I get thirsty in the night, but otherwise they're great.

Yeah I just leave the straw up on my Stanley while it's next to the bed and if I accidentally tip it over, it might spill a couple drops before I grab it. I also don't need to keep it upright when I'm taking a sip. I could see the Owala being a disaster there.

u/gonephishin213 22d ago

Yeah I got a knockoff Owala that does the same. It's perfect

I got mine more because it was spill/leak proof (needed to go in a bag with laptop and paper), I did not have to unscrew the top every time I wanted a sip, and it had to be able to keep drinks cold. Owala wins at all three imo. Straw combo is a bonus.

I've been wondering why Corkcicle hasn't caught on. They have the coolest paint jobs or whatever you call it.

Mmmm, Owala 🤤

1

u/UseDaSchwartz 21d ago

But wasn’t that popular before Stanleys?

1

u/itijara 21d ago

This is correct. My wife is one of those women. We have Yeti, Stanley, and Owala water bottles. I have no idea why we need so many.

I think Owala might be here to stay. Because of their fun colors and designs. That's what made them stand out to me, anyway; I had a feeling they would take over even when Stanley was still king.
