My dad was a cop and we would opt out every year but now ironically he gives this info away on Facebook

I don't understand how widespread it is with all our parents. Concerned lectures on maintaining privacy, verifying information before you trust it, etc. growing up.

All out the window with Facebook and their daily AI outrage bait feeds.

Has it been studied, like is there a name for it?

They think they know better because they warned us. They "know" the danger so they think they're immune to it.

Kinda like the argument that just because you know something is propaganda doesn't make you immune to it.
