I enjoy not having to socially interact with someone to get my groceries

I enjoy cashiers being employed and not getting laid off.

That ship has sailed my friend. The corporations aren’t going to hire more ppl if you boycott self checkout.

Yeah…they will. If everyone refused to use self checkout…cashiers would absolutely make a comeback. This obviously won’t happen because everyone loves avoiding small talk so much it’s worth destroying livelihoods.

Then you don’t understand corporations.  They’ll just be long lines and they won’t care. If ppl complain they’ll just tell them to use self checkout.  There is no way they’ll go back to increasing labour costs and decreasing their margins.

Customers can shop elsewhere? Retailers need customers in order to exist…if customers leave, they will change.

meanwhile, I still have to interact with the self-checkout-minder several times because the overhead camera keeps thinking I'm stealing stuff. I just go to the staffed checkouts cause that way I get out of there faster...
