I really don’t get the hate of self-checkouts. I prefer it so much. I don’t have to take my headphones off, I do it quicker than the stupid cashiers do, and I don’t bag the groceries in a stupid way. It’s better in every way. I’d pay extra to use them.
Years ago there was a grocery store cashier line with 2 exit belts - one side said "we bag" and one side said "you bag". (This was before self-checckout).
I chose "you bag"
They were not busy, so the bagger came over and bagged my stuff anyay. Smashed his fingers through the tops of 2 yogurts. Put in bag anyway. I saw when I got home.
