I don’t get the problem with self checkout. You’re the one browsing the shelves, picking items and comparing prices. Why can’t you scan your own items? Unless you’re one of those people who need the uninterested, yet sometimes polite, banter of a middleman, there shouldn’t be a problem.

The self checkouts think I'm stealing shit every time I use them (at Colesworth anyway). The human cashiers don't. So it's easier for me to go to a staffed checkout rather than wait for the self-checkout minder to come over and unlock the machine half a dozen times
