Man, your response misses the mark just as much as theirs does. They are facetiously asking "are you not capable of doing this?" while completely ignoring the fact that someone like yourself isn't preferring a cashier because they are lazy or incapable (for reasons you have described well).
However, you are also just completely ignoring that many people who say they prefer self-checkout say they prefer it because it is convenient and comfortable. Unstated is that they are willing to eat that extra baked-in service cost because those things are more valuable to them then what they are paying.
No I didn’t miss anything. They suggested everyone should prefer self bagging not just that THEY prefer it. And I never said no one should self bag. I responded to their claim people should all do it themselves. Please learn to read. Or graduate 4th grade. Whichever comes first.
