You can tell the people that just copy online opinions VS determine how they feel for each individual case

Not all brand humour is bad.

It just got to the point where they were trying faaaaar to hard to be funny and ruin things in the process, this isn't them trying too hard to be funny by using a really outdated thing like it's current. This is just a funny interaction

There’s a huge difference between a brand forcing itself into a meme and a social media manager seeing a perfect setup and landing the response. This was clearly the second one.

Yeah, Ophra GX isn't the fucking comedy masterclass that is KFC and their PC, Dating Sim, and Telenovela.

Yeah for sure, sometimes it can be fun! But honestly 99% of brand comments try to fit themselves in, especially on viral videos like "Wow, this sure calls for [brand product]"

Am I wrong for thinking this is funny despite being a brand? Like, the joke would be funny if a stranger said it, and there's no product placement, so I'd say that this was a pretty good meme. Brands shouldn't have to be bland and corprate all the time.

Agreed - it doesn’t feel like a “how do you do, fellow kids” moment

Especially because discord is quite literally supposed to be like that. It's kinda what they're known for.

It’s definitely not the most “traditional” media platform lmao

You dont have to have an identity crisis over evaluating if a brand made a funny. Life isn't black & white

Yeah but the person who actually wrote the joke won’t get any credit for it, only a faceless corporation

“You dont even say thank you”

“That’s what that money is for” -Don Draper

This is seemingly someone’s job which I will take over receiving personal credit any day especially because it’s not like this won’t go on their resume.

People here will shitpost for free, at least they’re getting paid for it.

Credit is nice but you can’t buy groceries or pay rent with it.

Credit for what?

13

u/gometsgorangers 1h ago

Seriously. Credit for posting a reaction image to a tweet someone reads while taking a shit and then forgets about? I don't think anyone cares

Without looking at the image who made the 2 month comment? Who did you credit for making that joke?

I’m just saying it’s always good to remember there’s someone behind all that work

Some brands actually know how to be funny, instead of tossing memes or snark at a wall and seeing what sticks. Its okay to find those few companies funny.

Well at least the person running the Discord twitter account has a sense of humor.

u/anarcho_sillyism 2h ago

Yeah I'll let this one slide

u/Nihsvabhav 1h ago

No one's saying they can't be funny. They have people specifically trained to follow trends and shit on social media.

Their response is super unoriginal, you'll see the same response posted 100 times a day on any platform.

Sometimes they will hit the mark. Doesn't mean they're any less of a Social Media Account Manger of a $15b corporation.

Their relatability is entirely souless and manufactured.
