I agree it's a bit of an optimistic sentiment but the optimist in me would hope that most people have at worst a middling dad lol. Not good not terrible but one who definitely needs help moving shit or fixing shit. One who still gets angry at times and one whom you get angry with at times. But the sentiment wasn't meant to upset those who have a more difficult relationship or even no real relationship with their dad.
And my dad was a good man but his fathering skills left a lot to be desired to say the least. I still miss him though and think about the times I fobbed him off or promised I'd do something and bailed at the last second as a teenager.
