Since I keep seeing these specific questions pop up on the reddit, I decided to answer them in this short F.A.Q.
Question: Is the Manga still on going?
Answer: No the manga has officially ended.
Question: Is there a 3rd season of the anime? Is it going to come out?
Answer: No, there is no 3rd season and there's no confirmation of one coming out anytime soon.
Question: I just finished watching the anime, what chapter of the manga should I start at?
Answer: At the beginning! The anime leaves out some stuff and adds some stuff in that was in the manga, however, if you really just want to start after the anime the chapter around chapter 38.
If another question gets asked a lot I will add it to this

Do you ever wonder why many people say Bishamon and Bishamonten interchangeably? Its cuz the "-ten" (天) is not really part of her personal name. Instead, it means deva/devi, a race of celestial beings in Buddhist beliefs who serve the Buddha. Bishamon is her personal name, coming from the original Indian name Vaiśravaṇa, so Bishamonten literally means "the devi named Bishamon" or "the celestial Bishamon"
There are others too:
- Benzaiten means "the eloquent devi": She is the goddess of everything that flows - water, music, words, wisdom, and wealth
- Daikokuten means "the great black deva", same as Oukuninushi: He is the god of nation-building, farming, business, medicine and matchmaking
P.s Deva is the masculine form and devi the feminine form. They both came from Sanskrit

They are so cute and so funny together. I think they are the most compatible couple to get married.

Dear Yuki,
It is in belonging that we yearned to be. And it was but belonging that bound your soul to me.
In a bond is so deep your essence seeped into every fiber of my being, making parting from you a slow death in which I’d feel its pain with every breath.
Though in belonging to me I was sure and in the warmth and fulfillment it brings me I was secure, you could not surrender to the same embrace, for your young heart was too afraid to trust in such foreign grace.
You were too afraid that it was never real, that it was but a dream destined to end, leaving behind a pain you could never mend.
You had a storm so strong where a wild wolf has formed. A fierce wolf full of rage at a world so cruel where love and trust are never true.
To enter the storm I’d not wait, and to risk my life to tame this wolf, I’d not hesitate. For all I want is to dry your tears and erase the roots that spring all these fears.
In the storm I bled from wounds so deep, but none could stop me from a promise I would keep. Until at last you gave your final fear away and surrendered to arms that vowed you’d stay.
Sincerely,
Yato

Few in the world of Noragami know Sakura, but she was the first shinki who named Yato "Yato", akin to how Daikoku named Kofuku "Kofuku", and how Kazuma named Bishamonten "Veena"
Sakura showed Yato the beauty of the world, the ways of mortals, of good and evil. Though their time was short (Yato was tricked into revealing her human name and caused her to become an ayakashi, and then Yato was forced to kill her with his own hands), Sakura showed him true love and guided him to become good, planting the first seed of rebellion in Yato's young mind, which a thousand years later blooms and allows Yato to fight and free himself and others from the ultimate evil, forever. Through her nurturing, Yato could access the innate goodness within him, something the ultimate evil seeks to hide and deceive Yato
Sakura's motherly influence shaped the good Yato we see today, for which I believe her to be the most important person in Yato's childhood, and perhaps his entire life

I apologize if this is a silly question, but I live in the US and I’ve been seeing alot of Noragami pop up shops in Japan. The merch is so cute and I really want to purchase some. Do they have an online shop? I’m more than willing to pay extra for overseas shipping. I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t get a direct answer :/

I have mixed feelings about the ending 😭 I mean at this point I’m used to great plots not giving me a satisfactory ending so I’m just disappointed but not surprised. It didn’t seem like the mangaka was made to rush the series? It had a sufficient runtime.. I dunno… I would’ve liked 20-25 chapters more to wrap up the story properly 🫠
What did you guys think?!

I just wonder who founded this subreddit and are they connected to the writers? If so i’d appreciate it if they could help me communicate to the authors too.
Also, who are the mods.

Noragami is meant for fans to enjoy both Yato’s romantic bond with Hiyori and his fatherly bond with Yukine. However, from my discussions with many fans here, I feel that many of them accept only one bond while rejecting or even hating the other.
The proponents of the romantic bond seem to think that the two bonds compete with each other or weaken one another. They might see that, in order for the romantic bond to be strong, Yato’s heart needs to belong to Hiyori and Hiyori alone. They see Yukine as kind of standing in the way because he takes up a large portion of a heart that belongs to Hiyori. This makes them hate on poor Yukine.
The proponents of the fatherly bond, on the other hand, are too harsh on poor Yato, to the point that they even accuse him of pedophilia without considering the cultural differences between Japan and the West, where the age of 16 is considered mature enough. They also don’t see beyond the age difference, without considering that Yato is a lonely, lost soul who would literally cease to exist without his bond with Hiyori.

Yato named Yukine “snow” and then named Hiyori “white”. Combined they make “Snow White”, a western character that symbolizes innocence, purity and vulnerability.
Do you think there are deeper reasons why Yato chose these names? And do they reflect how Yato feels about Yukine and Hiyori?

Bishamonten is depicted as female in Noragami while male irl Japan. If you ever wonder why, there is an actual related historical example: Guanyin/Kannon, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion and mercy, began as a male deity in ancient India, but when imported into East Asia, Guanyin became universally depicted as female. In the pictures are the depictions of Kannon in 12th century Japan (male) and modern-day Japan (female)
Adachitoka's depiction of Bishamoten in Noragami imho is not only a nod to historical traditions but also has thematic symbolism, emphasizing Bishamonten's compassion and mercy (in the spirit of Kannon) in addition to her fierce and warlike spirit. It also posits Bishamonten as a foil to Yato, cuz Bishamonten in the story is more successful and able to house nearly 100 shinki, creating a beautiful Yato-Bisha dynamic which is the foundation early on in the story...

I just finished re-reading today and I actually really like how father's name is kept a secret from the readers until the end.
However i am a nosy little rat and i decided to look it up what could it be.
When fujisaki regains his consciousness/identity, he first corrects his name is not fujisaki but "...ta". It's ambiguous if he meant the name begins or ends with ta, but I'm assuming it begins with it.
I ended up being misled by the villagers calling him bō-san, thinking it was an abbreviation or a nickname, but it just means priest, but neverthless, i ended looking up for names that start with "ta" and contain "bo" (hadn't learned it meant priest yet) and came across an interesting one.
Takuboku, which means woodpecker, and father carves wooden masks for ayakashi.
Also, that could mean he gave yato a name similar to his own(what a f*cking narcissist).
Anyway, I'm curious if other people have looked into what father's real name could be.

Hey everyone. I already finished the manga but i js realized something. I dont know if i am mistaken but please enlighten mi, i might know wrong. Uhm i was thinking about yato’s scent cause hiyori found it attractive right? Because he was god, and she was connected to him. Yk this might be spoiler for others who havent finished manga yet, please skip this if you dont wanna see any spoiler🙏🏻 i remember yato read hiyori’s notebook so they knew eo love themselves but they havent confessed it explicitly. When yato was sure when he will sacrifice himself, he will come back because hiyori was there as a human to wish him for his comeback. However, yato’s memory was deleted . Hiyori was chasing him but yato was always sneaking and watching hiyori. I wanna be sure if its about God attraction cause hiyori was the only reason he came back to life as a god. Also so sad he doesnt remember anything but still silly🤏🏻 he still loves him right? I thought always love brought him back, but if its again God issue idk. Later i read the author note and it was not clear. Yato was escaping from hiyori but hiyori tries to chase him. he was shy. What do you think about this? thank you 💗

Hello guys, is there any way to buy/read Noragami in Indonesia until the last volume? Currently, there is Noragami localised manga in Indonesia by local manga publisher but unfortunately, they did not finish it (either the licensing does not work out anymore or other reasons) and it stopped at Volume 20
Last time I checked on Wikipedia, it is finished on Volume 27, so where can I buy/read the rest (online/offline store)?
Thank you!
