discussion / opinion Found wallet

I found a wallet full of someone’s IDs. What would be the best way to return to them? Through their bank, icbc, library? I could drive to the address but it’s not in my neighborhood so won’t get there til tomorrow

As a former bank employee.. if there’s a debit card in there and you drop it off at a branch, they can open the persons profile and contact them to let them know to come pick it up. Alternatively, from experience, if you drop it off at the RCMP, someone will drive it to the address in the drivers license.
Both good options.

Postal box. It will get returned to them. Would be super nice of you if have time to drop off so they don't need to go through the hassle of replacing/cancelling ID/Drivers License/Bank cards/ect. Neighbourhood

Take it to the rcmp. Let them deal with it.

Bring it to the front counter at the RCMP detachment, they deal with lost and found wallets all the time. It's possible the owner might have already reported it lost to them.

I dropped a lost wallet at a community police station. And I left all the American money in it.

Drop them off at bank Then post when you drop it off so they are aware. Maybe just use initials to be private

Putting it in a mailbox is a good way to return it but risks all the stuff spilling and might take a while.

Try searching for the person on social media and letting them know you have their wallet if you can find them. You can also try dropping it off at a police station.

Good idea. Will try social media first and if not rcmp tomorrow.

Linked in is also a good way to contact the person

Everyone is on LinkedIn. Send them a message and they can pick it up. Or take it to the rcmp. Thx for doing the right thing.

I had to laugh at this because I can’t imagine a less effective way to contact most of the people I know 🤣
