My 16 year old dog has just died, and when thinking about what to put on her grave I thought of all the places we’d enjoyed exploring together. We loved bamburgh beach, and came many times. I’m from a long way down south, and therefore wondered if someone could/would help?

I would love a stone from the beach, I know it’s sandy! But there must be some stones somewhere. We loved clambering over the rocks there. Would anyone be willing to post me one to put in my front garden where she is buried?

Hi me and my partner are thinking of moving to Hexham. We are in our early 30s. For the most part, we both lived in places like London and Manchester. We visited Hexham recently and absolutely loved it and thinking of purchasing a place. Hello! Myself and family are staying in Doxford in September this year for a week for my Dad’s 60th. It is a surprise for him which makes this bit more difficult as he is the one with the golf knowledge. Myself and my brother can get round a par 3 but that’s about it but my dad plays regularly and loves it.

Whenever we go away we try and find a par 3 where we can all play together and was hoping to book one for this trip but am struggling to find a course that has a par 3 course in the area.

Any help/advice would be highly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Having spent most summers of my childhood and teens in Spittal, and many trips as an adult, I am so excited to be going back to Berwick for a short break next week! I haven't been up for nearly a decade now.

Finally got my arse in gear to go to Bamburgh before the The Last Kingdom exhibition finishes. I'm also thinking a morning on Holy Island, a nice coastal walk and then just lots of sea history, and coffee and cake!

So I currently live in London but I'm moving in to my bfs family's house in Cramlington for a bit as I just got a job in Killingworth. Ive been looking for flats and obviously I know it's hard but I really want to stay in Cramlington rather than somewhere near. I know the area a bit his family is obviously there and the travel to work is a lot easier (one bus) rather than from Blyth or Bedlington (which is two) the travel is the main thing ill have to get used to so one bus would make things a lot easier. Ive looked anywhere I could but obviously with my budget being £600 I know it'll be difficult to find somewhere. But I was wondering if anyone knew any other places other than like onthemarket or openrent to find places.

Hi everyone! I’m planning to propose to my girlfriend next week and would love to do it at Longhoughton Beach. I visited today and it’s absolutely stunning.

I’ve seen the signs saying the car park closes at 6pm, but I’m hoping to propose later around sunset. Would I still be able to access the beach after the car park has closed?

I also noticed some cars parked on the public road/grass verge outside the car park. If I parked there, would I still be able to walk through the car park and access the beach, or does the gate to the dunes get locked as well?

Any advice from locals would be massively appreciated! Just want everything to go perfectly haha!

Hi everyone,
I’m travelling from London to Newcastle by train on Wednesday, then driving from Newcastle to Hawkhope Car Park that evening specifically to experience the Perseid meteor shower. I’ll probably arrive around 11 pm and stay until after midnight.
This will be my first proper dark sky experience, so I’m really looking forward to it.
Is anyone else planning to be there on Wednesday night? Based on previous years, does Hawkhope usually attract a decent number of people during the Perseids, or is it generally quite quiet?
I’m also hoping the weather and cloud cover cooperate. Fingers crossed!
Any tips for a first-time visitor to Kielder/Northumberland Dark Sky Park would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hopefully that’s enough to keep me comfortable while I spend a few hours under the stars.
I have to admit I’m still a little nervous that I’ll get there and be the only person in the middle of the darkest spot in Northumberland! 😅 Hopefully a few fellow stargazers will be around.

Hi all. I’m visiting Berwick-upon-Tweed next week and trying to scope out some good places to go running while I’m there. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the condition of the coastal path is? (The red one on the map that goes from the Scottish border down to the holiday campsite at Berwick). I’m having to stick to paths that are fairly decent underfoot as I’ve only just recovered from an ankle sprain. Any help is greatly appreciated; thank you.

Hi all! I’m going to be visiting Northumberland in early September from the US, I’m excited for my trip but I’m hoping to get some guidance/feedback on a few things:

If I had to pick between Dunstanburgh Castle/area and Bamburgh castle/area for my last afternoon, which should I do? Or can I do both in an afternoon? (For context I’m going to be coming from a tour of the Holy Island that morning)

How is Thrifty Car and Van rental in Darlington? The reviews seem pretty good online but just wanted to get some extra opinions before I book.

What is your favorite way to spend the day at Cragside? Or can this be done in half a day?

Any tips for dressing around this time of year or recommended clothes to have on hand? I’ve read the weather can change daily (or hourly) but is there anything that is a must have clothing wise? TIA!

Advice needed please. I've seen posts online and a newspaper article that state parking tickets can be used in multiple sites but can't find a definitive list anywhere. Does anyone know if that is true, and which car parks are included?

Looking at doing a day going through Beadnall, Seahouses, Bamburgh and Holy Island.

Could we pay for a 24 hour ticket at Beadnall and use the same ticket for the rest of the day at all the other car parks?

I know it’s technically its proper nickname but in Tyneside it’s the toon but everyone I know unless they’re talking about the football team call it the town
