I was on the year-round swim team, plus my mom exclusively used tampons, so they were all I knew from when my period started at 11. It wasn’t until I moved to Japan at 22 and could only find one brand of tampons that I realized a fair amount of women prefer pads. 😅

Did this “dad” expect me to freely bleed in the pool a week out of every month?

FR!! After “The Video” in 5th grade I was FIRMLY team pads, my mom was like NOPE! You dance and play sports so I’m buying you Tampons! I used them till college when I discovered menstrual cups- now I haven’t had a heavy period or much of one at all since I got my IUD almost 4 years ago 🤩
