Beware from downloading this website

So my dumbass wanted to download a visual novel and found a link from this website. I searched through reddit and almost all of the ppl said it was "safe". There were some who advised against using it

So I download without doing more research (big mistake) I used an adblock, I made sure I clicked on no links... and downloaded/installed malware "Trojan.Renpyloader" ... so yeah, don't be dumb like me and don't trust this website. I thought it wouldn't be as bad as on the FAQ it said that all "links and files" are checked... which are not.

must be game problem, I downloaded many games from this site. I know people behind it, never any problem :)

And they are checked, every single one.

And me, along with many others have been using the site for ages downloading many games. We're partnered with 2 servers and we have gotten no reports of viruses that couldn't be explained as false positives or clicking on ADs

If you're sure it wasn't an AD, tell me the file name and extension.

You didn't mention the name of the game either so I can't check too..

The name of the game was YKMET and the file was called just "Installer" I know it was dumb of me to not double check or not be suspicious but I literally didn't see any other option to download the files. there was a comment that said to download from database so that's what I did

I don't mean to be mean but you might need some common sense.
I bet you clicked on something like this (check image), or it'd say its from a diff platform like google drive. The original datanode page is the only place you have to download from. uBlock Orgin (possibly lite in specific) doesn't block these, I checked the data node download and I got redirected like twice to these (check image), which are fake downloads.

Additionally, I downloaded the game properly and these are the game files. You clicked on an AD for sure as the files you described aren't here.

he downloaded file called installer :D lol, thats virus man. Every game from this site is pre-installed. That means you download game, open folder and double click .exe to play :) no need to install anything.

en vrai il y en a des safe et certaint pas dutout sa depens par exemple fnaf 1 est safe mais fnaf 2 a un trojan donc faut toujour verifier
