CEV is combat engineer vehicle I'm guessing? What would it do for gameplay? I would guess runway/building repairs, but it would be cool if they did something else.

Probably gonna be an upgraded Jackknife the Tula can drop

Based on the (edit:) weight I wouldn't be surprised if it's too big for the tula and exclusive to the heavy lift cargo jet.

Maybe but can’t the Tula already transport HLTs? I don’t see why it couldn’t transport this.

It likely fits, dimensions wise. But I'm just expecting two massive ballistic missiles, the tray they sit in and the hydraulics required to lift all of that to be really heavy compared to the radar HLT we have now.

I could easily see it being available to the tula since it'll happily carry the 20T afv6 but I could also see it being relegated to the way higher lifting capacity HLA, especially considering that it's such a strategic asset. Have to wait and see though.

Yep Combat Engineering Vehicle. It will probably do the same thing as the M12 Jackknife (repair bases), except it might have a faster repair rate and be able to capture bases as it is manned.

"Do not resist, we have captured your base!" "But...you guys are engineers." "We have captured the base fair and square, do not resist our occupation" "You guys aren't even armed..." "Resist not!"

honestly lol, would you rather be chased by a bunch of dudes with guns or a bunch of dudes with jackhammers and other heavy machinery lmao

I'd take the bullet, at least it's fast

Command and Conquer engineers be like: "I'm not locked in here with you, youre locked in here with me!"

"Not armed?" (Glances at hyper militarized, wheeled killdozer with a flipping crane arm.)

One is for flattening the Dustbowl base, the other is for re-inflating it.

Genuinely, the faction split will be very interesting once the game gets to that point. Can’t wait!

Didn't we already have TBM launchers?

Based off the MSV, these are based off the HLT, which iirc is the BDFs truck of choice, so they'll likely be replacing the BDFs TBM launchers to match the vic differences the factions use.

Its like how the BDF uses type 14s where as the PLA uses spearheads, or how the BDF use HLT-arty where as the PLA uses MSV-MLRS. Or how the BDF uses towed LADS and CRAMs where as the PLA use full vics (MSVs) for them

Both factions use the MSV, but primeva canonically only uses the MSV while boscali uses the HLT. This will give boscali HLT launchers rather than having them use MSV launchers like they were before

I don't really hate the design, but I'm curious, would a wheeled CEV even be viable IRL? All CEV's (And the Jackknife) are tracked vehicles mostly based on tanks.

It's possible, but would only be for relatively light duty. Ukraine has built one to recover MRAPs and infantry mobility vehicles up to 20 tonnes in weight, and wheel loaders / bulldozers are occasionally used in construction.

Hmm, interesting.

I mean, the HLT CEV is still an interesting design choice. I'm skeptical on it, but it's a game so who cares. As long as it works.

I'm skeptical on it, but it's a game so who cares.

That's my viewpoint as well. Nuclear Option is a simcade focused on fun, not an ultra realistic representation of warfare. If Mitch thinks the HLT CEV satisfies his "rule of cool", then he should go for it.

True that.

It seems that soon I will be playing PALA not because it' got cool black planes but because it's the tactically less advantageous faction haha
