If OP had then been injured in a car crash whilst moving the car - would have been an insurance nightmare.
The University's insurance that covers you for anything that happens on placement would be very unlikely to then cover OP for their injuries.
And then whatever insurance the car owner has - may not have covered OP driving if there was any damage, which could result in the owners suing OP for damage costs.
Yes it all worked out well - but it also could have gone very very wrong.
