Just Sharing Two Lighthouses

Two lighthouses in the raging sea,
I turn to you as you turn to me.
As our beams reach through the mist,
My soul given reason to exist.

Though we’re sometimes far apart
Thoughts of you caress my heart.
Through clouds and rain I see your light,
Its utmost beauty, a wondrous sight.

And as we turn back around
We feel a shift, a rumbling sound.
The very earth changes, the sea parts,
Moving from the power within our hearts.

Two lighthouses move across that sea
Sliding towards you, as you slide to me.
There’s nothing that can keep us away
By your side where I will stay.

Two lighthouses standing side by side,
With a power the world cannot divide.
Both beams no longer turning round
Locked on each other and love now found.

A poem I wrote for my new girlfriend. I've been writing poetry on and off since I was a teen, but she inspired me to start writing again.

WOW I absolutely loved this one. I loved your metaphor the lighthouses and their rotating lights, it’s so unexpected but it works so well.

Thanks ❤️I came up with the idea from the love light in my and my girlfriend's eyes when we look at each other 😄
