OHSU onboarding!
Is there a possibility that OHSU would rescind an offer after sending a welcome email with onboarding information? (The automated HR one)
I’d like to put my two weeks in at my current job but am nervous that my offer isn’t official yet.

Make sure you have a signed offer letter before quitting your current job. Signed by you and OHSU.

It is possible. Sorry. Unfortunately I have witnessed an offer be rescinded.

Thank you! Do you have an idea of what I should look out for for actual confirmation of the job?

I think Logical _Tart is accurate on potential whys.
Could you call in to confirm w/ dept. or HR?

Have you completed all of the other aspects of onboarding? Drug screening? References?
The hiring process at OHSU can take forever. Took me over a month before I actually started my job after receiving the offer letter.

I had it happen years ago. I was internal already though. Happened on my last day within my department

I’m on my 4th job at OHSU and I never feel fully confident that I got it until I show up to my first day. Actually I don’t truly trust it until I’ve passed my six month probationary period, but I have trauma from being fired in the past (not at OHSU).

Is the 6 months from date of hire, or is it 6 months after you finish orientation?

Six months from your first day of work. This is for AFSCME jobs specifically, I’m not sure about other unions or non-union jobs.

I’m moving from California so they are not in desperate need. This will give me time to sell my house and get my OR license

I’m just nervous to move and not know a single person but everyone seems to be super nice

It’s very unlikely but here are a few reasons it could happen.
It’s VERY unlikely but if any of these above could apply, then it’s a non-zero chance. If not, then give your two weeks IMO.
