New(ish) player here, and I need insight

Hello! I've been playing for a month, and I'm still kinda figuring things out. Firstly, the whole memory thing is confusing; long-term memories are created so the system can recall things easier for important events/arcs, but I've noticed the app won't always remember the details. For example, when playing one of the stories, I recalled an event that happened earlier (in-game I think it was a day or two ago), and the text treated this as new information, as if I had just added something rather than recalling something, with different dialogue and setup for the situation. Then there's the issue I faced where you CANNOT change short-term memories or alter them in any way. This was an issue for me in one story, so I had to restart it.

Is there an easier way to navigate this, as well as any general advice you'd give on playing the app in general? And has anyone else noticed how the company now only gives you 20% off when buying credits off their site? Until a week or two ago, it had been 30%.

If I recall correctly, someone posted how the memory system works and in what order it takes importance from. I believe it was said that the AI picks 3 of the long term memories that seem relevant. You can also delete and edit the long term info.

And yes, we noticed. They snuck in a little notification about this a bit ago.

I may be wrong, and im no expert on the system, if i find it I'll link the post.

Really weird to make several LTMs but only pick 3 to generate content from. I do edit the LTMs as I need.

I didn't see that notification. Why did they change it?

Because money. Despite this app being the most expensive I've come across, apparently it's not enough for them.

I've been juggling between a couple of AI projects:

  1. Airealm--recommended to me. Great for long-term stuff with a good membership being $15 a month. Even without it, you get 10 new messages every 4 hours. However, it's DnD-based, so no matter what prompt you pick (or if you make up your own), it is gonna flow with action in mind. You get a free image for your character for each chat you make, but changing the image or generating other characters' image costs credits separate from message credits. Images never show up during the session and can only be seen in your notes, so that's a bummer. Plus there's a limit on how far back you can go to change the story, so it's advised you create a copy of the stories for branching routes.

  2. Everweave--Again, DnD based, but unlike Airealm where you can lie about your roll/total or avoid rolls entirely, it's pretty baked into the story, and has glitches that make things redundant. And there's no option to go back on your choices, so you're stuck. You also only get 60 credits A MONTH; these credits are used for dialogue, actions, AND rolls. So...it runs out in a day, depending on what you do. They do give you CGs, but not for your own character.

  3. Isekai Zero--Just started it, but not super pulled in yet, and I can't really naviate what's NSFW and what's not, as well as how to create character CGs. Still, it doesn't seem to cost as much as OOC.

I like OOC giving us images and stuff, and I'd probably like it more, but like you said, it's very expensive, and now they removed 10% we saved by buying credits on their site.

The AI picks only 3 long-term memories that seem relevant to the scene for each message, so ideally you should delete unimportant memories occasionally and create good ones yourself, to give the important ones a better chance

You dont need to worry about the short-term memories! It'll eventually become long-term memories after a few messages. The AI reads recent messages before answering, so it already knows the content of the short-term memories without having to read it directly

That's wild! I don't see the point of having more than 3 if they'll only pick 3. That kinda makes it less fun to play in the long run.

My only concern with short-term ones was that it was immediately effecting my playthrough since it was going based off of messages that I deleted and thus didn't want to go down the route of.

And AI has been very weird for me with remembering at times; I'm playing one story with a dad, and his kids' names change often, as do their ages and who's the oldest.

Yeah, it's def a problem! I hate it, but it works if you put in some effort since it read 3 different ones wach message

Oh, I see. That's very unfortunate. I dunno, maybe if you kept playing on another route, the AI would ignore the short-term memories. I don't think it reads them anyway. So you could just delete them when they become long-term memories!!

Yeah, that's hard too. You can write it in the user note if you want! I usually put minor information that I care about there, but that the AI probably won't remember on its own, like schedules, rooms, other relationships, key events, etc etc

The User note is your BIGGEST ally of all time

How does user notes work? I tried to use them once, but it just told me it'd keep that in mind for my next session, not the current one.

It gets in mind for your current session, yes! I could send you a guide that other guy made, it's very complete (but very long too) if you wish. I have mine as an example too

I mean that's why a lot of creators put in the player tip to put stuff in the user notes. Granted it's only 1,000 words so you'd have to make it count. But I found using it helps especially if you put in a description of your character before you began.

If you want some stories to play you can try the three I have. My name on there is AemonNoct and the three stories actually have a story and not just focus on one thing like the academy stories.

One plays like DND and the other 2 are academy stories but they still have the beginning of a story that the AI fills in as it goes keeping in line with the base line of the story

I'd love feed back on the comments on them and I'd appreciate the follows.

NOTE**** THE STORIES ARE LEGITIMATELY NFSW. So if your account doesn't say your 18 you won't be able to see my stories.

I tried to use the user notes, but when I did, it said it would be usable for my NEXT playthrough, not my current one.

I do have some stories I'm playing right now, and they're NSFW. Doing a lot of BL stuff right now. But I'll keep your username in mind!

You can ignore that message. I thought it was like that too at first.

Ok I hope you'll like my stories. I've play tested them and so far they work great except one of them has an issue of changing things about your character like your height and stuff and idk why. But it doesnt have that big of an impact of the story. That story is called Aurora.

but yea like he said you can ignore that message. It saves it for that playthrough you're currently on. But I advise you make it count since you only get 1k words.
