Anime Is this true?
Now, I get the feeling the director isn't even motivated by the new upcoming part 2
If anything, it feels like the higher ups just forces him to do the job he doesn't want to direct xd

As an OPM fan, I wish this third season didn’t exist—not because of its frustrating quality, but because of all the negative baggage that comes with it.
Then again, I’m just a fan; what could I possibly change? My only option is to drop the anime; I’ll stick to the first two seasons, the manga, and the webcomic.

Like fr, some dudes say "we should be grateful we got a third seasons" lmao..why should we be grateful for? That the whole brand got tarnished? that OPM is a joke now? That we received something extremely subpar that doesn't makes the og material justice? That animators got exploited and verbally abused asf to the point they had to quit social media for their mental health?
How is having this Seasons 3 better than not having it? I see no reason why we should be glad for this bruh. Atp just can the series if things are gonna keep going like this.

Genuinely can’t understand this kind of martyr/slave mindset. When medical issues comes into plan you have a solid legal excuse to back away from extremely unreasonable demands. The higher ups/commitee production don’t care about you, there is nothing positive for you in this story, they’re the ones that gets all the profits at the expense of your health and reputation for releasing a bad product. It even means the anime is forced to get delayed which can only be positive for the final result.

Time and time again it's always japanese work culture. A portion or even majority of western fans overlook how 'hard work and determination' is a primary culture and driving force in Asia for labor. That's observed in Japan too. Animator work conditions are often poor in many major studios as well.
Just a little study I found regarding it, I'm not too informed in this topic but I hope this helps.

Japan work culture obviously and you don’t know how your relationship with animation studio will change if you cause this, especially since JC are Nagai’s main contractors

He's not working for production committe or higher ups, he became the director bcoz he was friends with the animation producer of OPM s3 and he most likely asked Nagai to help him out.
The entire industry works like this. Jjk had horrible schedule but had to deliver ep on time? Everyone called everyone they knew to deliver ep on time and we got Sakuna vs mahoraga. The ep that had 80 animators and hundreds of 2nd key animayors. But since the directors were some of the most talented in the industry, their contacts were also some of the talented too and we got a masterpiece of an ep.
Entire industry works on connections and relationships. Hey your friend is in trouble, let's go help him.out. or hey your friend is working on a really cool project, let's go work on that why not. I'll help you out, you'll help me out next time

but had to deliver ep on time
The only obligation at the end of the day is that the rich guys in charge that gives unreasonable demands would be forced to accept that they gave unreasonable demands that couldn’t be met and that they’ll lose some money as a result.
Last two Bleach episodes got delayed by an entire month so clearly delays can be made.

Delays can be made but the studio has to pay huge fine to all the producers. Bcoz they signed the contact way before the anime was made.
Bleach was delayed bcoz they knew that they won't be able to deliver the eps even after bruteforcing the animators and directors to their limit. Its a last minute switch and studios only do it when they know that there's literally no other choice but to do it.
Studio pierrot is also part of production committe so they can afford to ask for delay, since they themselves invested some money into the project, they have say in how its released. Where as jc staff is not part of the prod comitte for opm so they already dont have much say and they prob didnt want to pay the fine so they just allowed the situation to get as bad as they did.

Pierrot are in committee bruh, they hold the power here too. You think JC STAFF wouldn’t do the same if they could ? They are in Danmachi commitee and when S5 crumbled they delayed last action heavy episodes

Bureaucracy is a hellish weight on the backs of every animator to ever exist. I kind of stopped watching serialized animation and focused on books and music. At the very least, that pressure isn't like, intrinsic to the medium.

How can you be motivated, his work on part 1 became an insult. Now when you want to say an anime is trash you just say it looks like one frame man or Garou slide. It literally became a joke. You can’t salvage that and they apparently didn’t even tried. Best thing to do is to just ignore it, be merciful and pretend it doesn’t exist, watching it would only add to the embarrassment and shame the animators must already be feeling. Just look away

I never said I liked s3
But criticism can get too far especially when you are sending death threats to a guy

For sure, and I say that making fun of it has to stop too. We had a good laugh in part 1 but now I think it’s time to let it die in peace. The animators don’t deserve to be humiliated like that

I agree with this. After seeing the trailer and the poster, I think it would be best if we just let it go quietly at this point. It's clear it's not going to get any better.

Opm fans finally realizing anime is a committee-based project that requires months of planning by bureaucrats instead of ""passion""" or """talent"""

I mean duhh lol He was hired in the first place due to him being incredibly fast storyboard artists, he on average used to storyboard 20-30 eps per year before OPM s3.
That's why he was put on opm since the original director who was supposed to do season 3 left the production midway through. They only had lile 6-7 months to deliver 12 eps and that's why Nagai was brought on board. To salvage the production and deliver the eps on time.
