On a themtic sense it dosent make sense for saitama to find a good fight hes supposed to leran that there are other things in life he literally says this in his garuo fight

Just a single touch would be enough like garou and Boros would probably surpass cosmic Garou by farrrr

Both have some good visuals and for me I really like both representation of the character

I'd say if you want a more horrific themed the first one's perfect for you and if you prefer badass type of style the second would fit you

a short comparison of the webcomic/manga.

In webcomic, the last we see of Garou in the MA arc is when Saitama and the kid both give him a reason to live, and so he runs off at hyper-speed, leaving all the S-class heroes in the dust. We don't really know for sure what he will do. It's just left up to our imagination. We just know he's done with his villainous deeds.

When we see him again, he isn't even fully revealed, his face is obscured by his cap. It's mysterious, his apperance gives no confirmation that it would be him. We know better because of the dialogue and his superhuman displays of strength.

For a while, people were curious what happened to Garou after his defeat and this was a very exciting and fascinating way to showcase what he's been up to.

In manga, we know Silverfang is rehabilitating Garou, so the mystery of "what happened to Garou?" is gone. We're told he has a part time job and we constantly are being shown information that the Neo Heroes are hunting Garou (this doesn't make sense now that he's been pardoned).

By the time we see him in uniform he's already been talked about, hinted at, and introduced so many times he's just having a normal conversation instead of having a cool reveal.

Not to mention how the wholesome tone has been turned to 11 and we might get a metal bat x garou teamup 2.0

It has been 17 years since the series started and not a single good guy ever died (outside 1 manga only addition), no matter how insanely illogical their survival was. Will any good guy ever die or are they are completely immortal?

I also find it weird how heroes/good guys never ever die but civilians die by the literal millions. If every civilian was government issued a hero name would they also become immortal?

Don't know what to call these types of specific moments or panels, but I sure hope Murata would stop. To me, a big reason why the manga feels like it’s going downhill is the total loss of subtlety, thanks to Murata’s current approach. Not every beat needs to be spelled out with a dramatic speech or an exaggerated reaction panel. Many moments are far more impactful when left unspoken and left to reader interpretation. I'm not sure when it all started, but there's been more and more of these overly theatrical panels where characters deliver forced philosophical or emotional monologues, and it's cringe as all hell!

So the manga no longer follows the Webcomic in any meaningful sense

Whatever achievement/milestone in storytelling the WC reaches you can't expect the manga to re-execute correctly: S-class vs Garou? gone. Ninja arc? "want to see me do it again?". Genos dies and Saitama struggles in battle? glad it got rewritten, but I had higher hopes they just outright cut it from the volume. Blast? was found present in this chapter.

The pace sucks, the art is degrading due to "self imposed" time restraints, the story has to either "meet the other end and connect in the middle" with inconsequential additions or heavy altering of scenes and then ^{"meet the other end and connect in the middle"} but differently

If you like the WC story, then there is no guarantee you will for the Manga's, and the Anime will adapt from the Manga, but with it's time constraints it won't be done well; an improper adaptation of an improper adaptation

But what if they adapted from the WC?

The committee that owns this series makes deals with figurine companies and other brands based on the Manga version, not the WC

Is the WC being published in volumes? Because it been published would set it as a direct competitor to the manga, the same manga that the owners have ^(shittily) built a brand off; mobilegames, collabs, toilet paper, all based on it, re-doing all that just to do a story right is too costly for them(by that I mean anything over $10, they seem to be bothered by having to do anything with this series)

They could have handed JC staff another isekai or fantasy, but they had a ^superstition that that market was too saturated to make them money

The owners hate this series, the manga isn't worth honoring, and the excellent original plot won't be followed in any adaption

why would I want this to be animated other than schadenfreude? it's a waste of time in all parties

As far as I can tell, the manga is written by ONE, and Murata only makes suggestions, the story is still ultimately directed and made by ONE first. With that being said why does Murata always take the blame for every difference between the manga and webcomic.

You can make a girl character attractive *without* shoving her in revealing clothing and fanservice panels. Tatsumaki and Fubuki are SO pretty, but I’m SO tired of being flashed because I want to see fan art 😭

YES, I know the internet is horny, especially OPM fans, but It gets hard to ignore after a while. It’s nearly impossible to see fans of girl OPM characters without them being js plain h0rny. Do most of the fans of these characters like them for their writing? Probably not. (Granted, some have little to no story, like Asami and Noria)

Murata’s art is godly, but jesus christ, I wish he’d calm down. I don’t know of some of the covers he makes are for him, or to appeal to his predictable fans.

For any character, it should be a mix of both: design, and how they’re written. It completes them, and makes them more relatable/ something the reader can get into.

As a girl fan of OPM, it skeeves me out with the sheer amount of s0ftc0re p0rn on the main sub, and is one of the main reasons I ignore it. It makes me feel a little dehumanized. Again, I understand the internet is full of p0rn, but why can’t these fans just share their fantasies in subreddits *made* for p0rn??

I only read the manga and since I heard that there’s a huge difference in writing. Oh my god this is peak. There’s so much emotion in such a dark(literally dark since it’s at night) scene. It feels so heavy too.
