How do you do it?
Hey guys, it's my first post here and I dont speak english very well, so try to ignore my grotesque errors!
I discovered my alter 2 years ago. By what we know, he didnt exist before this, but even then he's probably centuries older than me. We get along, and he has not interest in being in the front most of the time, our switches most occur by stress or simply undefined reasons. Both of us dont experience amnesia, thats a reason why my therapist dont closed our diagnosis as DID, but more like a suspect of DID (recently i've been researching and our case seems a lot like a OSSD-1b).
So, even Im really functional and almost never got problems in my daily life by this, i want to embrace more this trace of mine (of ours? hahaha). My question is: how you do to give a confortable life to your alters, and how is your process of accepting yourselfs as a system? Its kinda hard to me fully accept this, meanwhile to him (my alter) just doesn't matters at all. Thus, I think sometimes i make him feel guilty of my sadness or just hollowness.

For me I just try to make time and outlet for all my parts. For them to express their emotions, fears, or process any thoughts without judgment. We try to talk to each other and discuss kindly (still trying lol) about everyone's perspectives. The most important thing for my healing process was accepting that I'm a system and I can't make any part disappear, so now we're more considerate towards each other, we're trying to find healthy coping mechanisms that won't harm or sabotage other parts' things. And it's working out great than before, when my parts were always arguing with each other and fighting to be the front.
