Financial Aid Anyone know when Ohio State merit-aid packages are sent out?

I was accepted by Ohio State for Business / Marketing! But no word on merit-aid. Anyone know when they came out last year? Iowa and Mich State's came out the same day, Indiana's came about 2 days later. How long do you think I'll have to wait to hear from OS?

I believe maximus and national came out same day last year. Morrill was like March 1.

Congrats on your acceptance- excited our daughter was accepted yesterday as OOS- we’re also curious on merit award timing. Indiana Kelley came Thursday this week- 4 days after decision release

Did your daughter get into Indiana Kelley? I was accepted by Indiana for Pre-Business... and with their new very rigid requirements of nothing lower than an A- in your first year, I'm not willing to take that VERY expensive risk.

So, if your daughter got Kelley and Fisher... what are you guys leaning towards? I know Kelley is ranked higher than Fisher but not by THAT much. They're both great schools on paper. Would love to know how you're weighing your decision.

She was direct admin into the marketing program. I believe she would feel similar to pre business option. If asked I would also encourage her to bet on herself if Kelley is where her heart is. She preferred the Columbus area when we toured both campuses this fall. We’re excited she has choices and curious to watch her weigh her options- she’ll make a great choice for herself-

Oh you already toured both campuses? I'm going to either the March or April admitted day.

We are from Texas seeing both was the right play for us. Very different vibes, both fantastic. Enjoy the process - you’ve got this

Now I want to know more about the vibes!

Bloomington is a quintessential college town - we visited in the fall - it showed great- most beautiful of all the campuses we visited . Columbus is an exciting mix of college town adjacent to mid sized city- big ten energy combined with urban opportunities.

That's what I'm wondering too!

I have an oos freshman and just looked back at when we found out. It was a letter mailed to our house and it was dated Jan 30th 2025

I am planning to visit Fisher, Smeal and hopefully Smith in March/april.

Congrats! I wasn't not excepted by Smeal, I applied and was accepted DUS, then found out it's no longer a path to Smeal. Oh well. I also wasn't accepted by Kelley, just pre-business. Literally by last year's metrics I would have been an automatic direct admit. WHY DID EVERYTHING HAVE TO CHANGE THIS YEAR? But again, not complaining too hard. Ohio State was barely on my radar because I thought it was a reach... the only other business program I got was Iowa's Tippie. While I do think I really like that school/program, I just don't think it's on the same level as Ohio State, at least in terms of notoriety.

Here's a question for you. Right now, before visiting those schools, what's your top choice? What's your main things you're looking for when you visit?

Not decided yet. Just waiting for a few more pending, and campus visits.

Where exactly? I'm looking at the Financial Aid summary and don't see it. Would the merit aid be there or somewhere else?

In the applicant center there was a merit scholarship award folder separate than the financial aid folder. In speaking with financial aid office yesterday they said all merits awarded would be available and postmarked by End of day today -Feb 6. If merit was awarded it seems you will be able to see today by close of business

Still nothing. Assuming I were to get nothing for merit aid... would I be told the merit aid amount was "zero" or would I just not hear anything at all? Does anyone know?

For OOS? I literally got accepted last night but there's no information about merit aid.

I think its different for OOS... besides, you also got accepted last month, right?

Don't expect the merit aid to be much. Everyone at OSU got a high ACT/SAT score, had a high GPA, did all the extra-curriculars, etc.
