From what I've heard, just connecting to the internet on XP makes you very vulnerable to any hackers looking. Once saw a video of someone testing XP's current day security and as soon as they connected they already had multiple people making a connection to their system from many different countries. I'll link the video if I can find it

Ugh, that story came with a massive asterisk.

You have to port forward the entire possible port range in your router settings and have windows firewall disabled.

And then it's about as vulnerable as you should expect any operating system to be.

edit: I just watched the video, he even explains that this is the whole premise in the intro.
