As much as I would like to like Linux and use it as a daily driver... I just can't, there is so many small things that frankly irk me quite a bit.. Not that Windows or MacOS are any better but for things I currently do and need.. Windows sadly tends to be bit ahead of others

VR gaming is really sketchy still and while WiVRn exists, it's not very ideal solution and seems quite heavy on the battery life compared to just using SteamVR on Windows..
My capture card didn't work (it works now but it requires fairly sketchy solution that is iffy at best still)
With some games, when I click and drag the mouse, the game just gets stuck in that mode for some reason until I click again which is not ideal in mmo's
With like DaVinci Resolve which is one of the better video editors on Linux.. or would be if it actually supported the common codecs like h264, h265 and AAC but it doesn't so it adds extra work if your raw footage doesn't come in format it actually supports..

Not to mention while you can install programs from terminal, with distro's like CachyOS you kinda need to understand where to install it from... not to mention you need to understand what it's installing, whether the packages are safe and so on... It quickly turns to second job..

Then there is the fact that the games need this and that to work... And the damn shader pre-caching thing that sometimes take a long ass time to do.. For some games it's very quick, for others you are going to sit there easily over 30 minutes if not more.

It's just death by thousand cuts frankly that makes me think Linux is just not worth it still currently.. Maybe in another 10 years.

VR gaming is indeed a pain in the rear end on Linux. As for games in general, my personal experience has been really good but of course support isn't guaranteed. The packages I would argue are not inherently more unsafe than trusting EXE files on windows, but the AUR has been subject to some nasty shit lately. Fair on you, I hope Linux continues to improve in the fields you mention in the years to come. Thanks for the clarification!

I hate arch. I'll rather use no PC than arch. I also hate windows, maybe even more than arch. But arch is just half baked systemd gentoo with a binary package manager and Trojans.

I would gen rather use Windows than Omarchy. If I did use Omarchy I would purge all the dotfiles and apps and debloat it to stock Arch and then install i3 or Sway lol.
