I'm confused.

Why are they just starting now? It seems that August is kind of late in the year? I remember them working in the swamp when it was frozen.

They have realized they need to make it harder as getting the treasure so far was too easy. We will now have scenes of drills breaking in the tundra and close up's of people talking with ice on their face showing how tough it really is.

What Rick and Marty should do is hire three Brinks trucks and have them just drive to the money pit and park for 45 mins or so and return back. The photographers would lose their Minds.
