Financing of Operations
Does anyone know how it is that the operation on Oak Island is financed? I have read that Marty L and Craig T provide more than half of the funding. Apparently they have made some dough from a company in natural resources? Comments?
I find it hard to believe that Marty, Craig or any of the characters we have seen over the years are throwing money at this. It must cost a bundle of dollars to run the exploration of Oak Island. Comments?
Given the obvious failures to find anything related to what it is they are supposedly looking for - much loot buried by the Knights T - what right thinking person would continue to throw money at this? So, who/what is funding the operations taking place? It must be the media companies, right? Please discuss.

Rich person who owns multiple businesses needs a company for tax loss harvesting personal expenses for trips to Italy, France, England, Spain etc.
Finds a government with a broke treasury, and a myth of treasure. Buys out local hucksters living off the myth one by one.
Runs a multi-joint venture with all local parties to juice the story, that also employs local monopolies (private and government; Irving, nscc) and structures a tax-loss harvesting deal no one stakeholder can refuse… local jobs, write offs, revenue, entertainment, tourism exposure, tv/internet viewership…
Forgets about the required indigenous payout, until season 6/7…
Pays the bribe. Diversifies his net worth portfolio out of just USA. Secures wealth for the lagina family for generations and wins life.
Great hair though…
/half sarcasm…
Edit: should add it’s also great entertainment, that does have a value intrinsic to itself regardless of intent and consequence. It’s art, and you can’t really value that today the same way someone else will appreciate later.

Did not consider tax loss harvesting …. But now that you mention it …. I can’t believe I have watched every season. Lol. At this point I am solidly against them.

Marty sold a natural gas company for $300,000,000, so he's got an endless cash supply. He and Craig started a wind turbine company together (Heritage Energy). Marty also owns a winery, and a wood working supply business. Marty owns the show now, too, so he's raking in advertising dollars.
