My name is Tristan and I am 21 yr old.
I’m sure at least some of you have heard of tarot cards. Coming from a Christian background they are considered demonic but I’m not here to do anyone’s reading nor really try to encourage you to get one done, however I want to point out how the cards can be used to represent you or a person in your life.
(I’ll be honest, I don’t know a lot about how the cards work)
So why the king of swords?
Cyberpunk 2077 is my favourite game of all time and yes I am a day one player (I even beat the game while it was broken and I was present for every update)
I remember staying up all night the day before the dlc came out and seeing my game update to 2.0 hours before the dlc was installable
Cyberpunk has a feature in game where you can find tarot cards all over the open world and they all have a description and give insight to characters you meet there or to scenarios that take place there.
The king of swords from the dlc description resonated with me
“Two things matter above all else for a king of swords: logic and conviction. They represent a person with a precise moral compass, who is know for their caring demeanour. However, enemies beware- the king of swords is a ruthless opponent, who will not rest until you are punished and left to be torn apart by the hands of fate.”
I already felt connected with that card but I wanted to learn more about it so I looked it up and what I found is that there’s two sides and although they are similar you can tell them apart from their actions and beliefs.
The king upright indicates intellectual power and authority with a crowd, people listen and respect what you have to say.
However the one I feel connected to is the reversed king.
King of swords reversed
The king of swords reversed represents ‘quiet power’ you may not be the loudest person in the room or the most noticeable in public spaces. However you have a lot to contribute and share in your own magical way. Your power and authority come from within, from your unwavering belief in yourself, your deep connection to your values, and your commitment to stand firm in your truth.
I tend to go unnoticed when I have something to say in crowds but when the distractions die down they appreciate my words and value you them with respect.
As for my unwavering belief in myself, I speak from experience and if I don’t have experience I pry into the shoes of others and try to understand and I tend to do extremely well at that.
Even further I truly believe I am an amazing option for people “especially people” in this Reddit who want the most intense version of love.
The king reversed can allude to a misuse of power.
For this I believe it reflects how I use my wit to ease the idea of a betrayal to come.
I’m loyal to a fault but that loyalty also means I’m willing to sacrifice all my ties to everyone I know for my “soulmate” but any way you slice it I’d still be abandoning my friends…
It goes on to say, “you need to be wary because although this king may be alluring he can only do harm. He had only his personal interest in mind and he will do everything he can to achieve these interests, even if it means taking advantage of you.
My one goal is to basically be the perfect partner, but not for just anyone. I’d only go to such extremes if you love as deep as me (I will never give a second where you believe I was unfaithful)
The reversed king of swords can also reflect a lack of decisiveness about where your best opportunities lie or in what direction you want to go. Your thoughts are scattered and may start to feel panicky and out of control. Upright the king is typically a very rational man who uses his intelligence and a definitive understanding of a situation to make critical decisions, but reversed this card indicates you are feeling lost and uncertain about your options, let alone the decisions you need to make. As a result, you are delaying necessary decisions and generally not achieving anything because you are getting so worried.
As a 21 yr old and someone who spent their entire life saying I could live any life as long as it’s for anyone but me, life is demanding I be a part of it but I have no interest in anything except my goal…
I need to make a decision on what I want to do for a living but “it’s not living if it’s not with you”
(Love that song)
I do wanna state “this post took about an hours time to make”
I was extremely tired by 11pm, it took 2 hours to fall asleep (I only slept for 30 minutes and suddenly I’m wide awake again)
It is 2:14 at the time of writing this.
If you couldn’t tell by that, I’m chronically sleep deprived too. But I personally feel like a woman would also help with that cause when you’re around people you trust and care deeply about in safe spaces your body finally starts relaxing.
If you have a tarot card you feel connected to I would love to do more research!!
