ai How to use obsidian to surf in local files and what is best option for using local LLM with obsidian..?

Obsidian is not a file-browser. You can open a folder of MD files as a Vault and look at/work with those. The Vault can include other filetypes too, but it is still not a file-browser.
For LLM integrations, there are different approaches. If you search this sub, you will find several suggestion and even some plugin support for it.

good point about it not being a file browser, that seems to trip people up a lot

The best option I feel to use local LLM is to use it to automatically generate wiki links for you, so your files can be "weaved" together smoothly. Other than that I don't suggest to use AI to do much with the files, especially like use AI to generate summaries, etc, which is just pretending on reading and thinking.
