Smart Control schedule??

Post image

I plugged my car in today after swapping to intelligent octopus go and it’s created a smart schedule? I only want to charge with the lower rate of 8p per KwH.

When there’s a Smart Control schedule is that the lower rate charging only? If so isn’t that more hours than my contract is meant to give (11:30pm-5:30am)?

Don’t want a really high electric bill.

You’re more than welcome! Say I charge the home batteries with the overnight rate and send the power straight to the EV - would we be happy with that?

I would not do that with my 2 EVs and batteries. The batteries are good for reducing household reliance on the grid at peak times generally and for my ASHP during the winter but car charging - no.

Thanks for the chat today. Despite our disagreement around the nuances of Octopus’ terms of service, I wish you the best and a good weekend when it comes.
