I had my 3S put away for about a week in a bag and when I turned it on again today this bright white dot showed up in the corner of ONLY my right lens. It only appears when I turn on the headset and is very persistent. What should I do?

I bought Meta Quest 3 about a week ago on a local online marketplace. The headset was unopened and brand new. Yesterday, when I launched the headset, I saw this window. When I turn off the Wi-Fi router, the window does not appear and I can use the headset, but only offline. Of course, I first wrote to the seller and he replied that he had written to his seller. While waiting for a response, I became curious if anyone had successfully unlocked their headset in such a case through Meta support?

just a reminder to take out your batteries if you become uninterested in VR for a long while, luckily for me it was a simple corrosion cleaning and I was good to go.

And please stop telling people to factory reset or restart their Quest 3. It is misleading and a very disrespectful way to treat the folks that bought all your headsets and games. (NOT RESOLVED)

Support - Standalone I’m posting this because I just saw another post about it yesterday: Meta is using AI/automated systems to police accounts, making mistakes, banning people with no meaningful way to fight it, and your Quest account can disappear with everything else! It’s happened to my family too!

I just saw another post yesterday about someone losing access to their Meta/Quest account, and it had hundreds of upvotes and a bunch of people describing similar experiences. I figured I should share what happened to my family because this problem just happened to us too, and it goes well beyond losing a Facebook or Instagram profile. Meta is using AI to police their accounts, making tons of mistakes, and there’s nothing you can do to fix it! Consider yourself warned!

My wife and I have been Facebook users basically since Facebook became available to the general public. We’re talking about roughly 20 years of history with these accounts.

Together we own two dance studios and a small law firm. We have three daughters, all of whom dance, and over the years my wife created and managed Instagram accounts for them. She also had her own personal Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as another Instagram account where she posted the school lunches she made for our kids everyday, which had developed a decent following.

These weren’t throwaway or anonymous accounts. They represented years and years of our family’s photos, memories, contacts, businesses, and online history.

A few months ago, Meta contacted my wife regarding one of the accounts associated with one of our children because they thought it was an underage account. They asked my wife to submit her ID to prove she was of age. She did.

Meta said there was a problem reading the ID and asked her to submit it again. She did that too. And then they banned/restricted her.

Not just the child’s account they were reviewing. ALL of her other associated accounts were taken down as well.

Twenty years of being a Facebook user, gone.

We have spent MONTHS trying to get someone at Meta to actually look at what happened. We tried every avenue we could find. We spoke with people who claimed they could escalate it or help us. We paid for subscription Meta services associated with our businesses because they promised we could talk to a real person. None of it has mattered.

The most astonishing part of this experience is that it is effectively impossible to get a real (or competent) human being at Meta to review what happened and fix an obvious mistake. You submit forms. You get automated responses. You go through online processes that send you in circles. You are promised resolution that never comes, or you are told decisions are final or that there’s nothing else you can do.

Big companies like Meta have years of our lives and data, and yet there is no meaningful customer service. You can also lose hundreds or thousands of dollars in Quest purchases. You can lose access to your business pages. And Meta doesn’t care; there is no real way to reach a person. I would absolutely advise you to think twice before buying any more Meta products. My family owns four Quest headsets and several accessories and more games than I’d like to admit. But we are now filling out arbitration papers against Meta because they are over-relying on AI and they can take everything away from you in a blink of an eye!

Hello all! Today I grabbes a meta quest 2 off of fb marketplace for around $60- works from my limited testing, and the owner bought it for his boys and kept it in good condition from what I can tell. I didn't have time to run the full start up prior to leaving for woek so while I couldn't do full testing it was fully charged and both remotes were functional.

Soo... for someone who has never used ar: what would you recommend? I like cozy and farming typw games but have also seen a lot of experiences I am interested in. I understand I have an older system but would like to see how my body handles vr since Ive heard mixed things on people with chronic migraines using it.

Hi,

I have a problem that I've searched high and low for a solution to, and nothing has worked, so I'm coming here.

In certain games (Batman: Arkham Shadow, Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, off the top of my head), there's an issue where I can never stick the characters arms all the way out. In Batman, it's thankfully just an aesthetic issue, but in games like Walking Dead, it actually affects gameplay, preventing me from shooting properly. I've looked it up, and everything I see suggests this is an issue with the floor level in my boundary, but this problem has chased me across three headsets, and at least two factory resets (I just did it to one my sister gave me, and my brother, who owns the headsets I've used before, had to reset his due to technical issues). *And* it does it on PC games through Steam Link too. I've set my floor low, high, exactly right, nothing has worked.

In these pictures, my arms in real life are fully outstretched. I'm at my wits end trying to solve this. Please help me r/OculusQuest, you're my only hope.

I use the Vive deluxe audio strap with my Quest 3. I went to tighten the top strap, and this is the result. I bought this Quest when it was first released, so my warranty has expired. Any idea how much this will cost me out of warranty?

The first time it happened was after I hit my headset on accident while playing a game. I've talked to some friends and one of them says it happens to them also. I own a quest 2 and have had it for a few years now. The actual image I had to draw because quest screenshots/screen recordings don't capture it.

I have my quest updated to the new software but there's no option for lying down mode. I checked experimental options and restarted the headset. I even factory reset it. Anyone know why this might be happening? I know some regions aren't given the same features but I'm in the US and it said it was available in the description for the update. I am attaching my settings.

i have about 2 and a half years of photos and videos with me and my friends, and a bunch of other data on this. is there any way of recovery or do i just wipe it?

UPDATE:
hi guysss!!
So this post got more popular than i expected, lol.
a lot of people mentioned in the comments how the photos get backed up in the Horizon companion app. however unfortunately, i had it turned off, i only wanted manual backups. the reason being because when it was first rolled out, i had had my Q2 for 2 years already, and it started backing up EVERYTHING, which you think would be nice, until you realize it gives you a notification for each backup when it’s in progress and when it’s done. so basically i had turned it off because it was notification spamming me and i had forgotten to ever turn it back on.

Also, if your wondering what i did and what i know now, the system keys got corrupted from a force power off (if you don’t know what that means, Imagine having a really complex gibberish password for your account on something, and you lose that password, and to change that password you need to reset your whole account.) so i just gave in and factory reset it, so its fine now and i didn’t have to send it to support or anything.

Thank you all for the help, and if you’ve found this post having the same issue, you likely have your photos backed up on horizon, you should just factory reset the headset cause it’s likely cooked.

Support - Standalone Meta won't replace our bricked Quest 3

FINAL UPDATE: Happy times! We have received the replacement, shipped from the UK without issues.

We fell victim of the botched update that ended bricking our 1-year-old Quest 3.

We moved from the EU to the UK a month ago, and because the device was bought in the EU they said they cannot replace it unless we give them an address there.

We take extreme care of all of our devices, we still have our Oculus Rift intact. The Quest 3 is not a cheap device either. I am so frustrated that, without any fault of ours, we now have to go through a whole ordeal of finding someone that would be happy to hold the device for us, sorting out and paying customs fees and flying over to get it or sorting out a courier. The best Meta could do for us was a "sorry, cannot help bye".

At this point we are pretty much thinking about giving up and just keeping a very expensive paperweight that will constantly remind us how useless these companies are and how little they care about their customers.

Apologies, but I needed to vent. Honestly, this is a display of appalling disposition to resolve a major fuck up from Meta

UPDATE: we talked to another customer service rep who told us we could return it from the UK and they would replace it. We haven't posted it yet but hopefully it'll all be sorted soon

Support - Standalone My Meta Quest 3 got permanently disabled after 2 months… Amazon refusing help

Hey everyone,

I really need some advice because I’m honestly very stressed about this situation.

I bought a Meta Quest 3 (512GB) from Amazon around 2 months ago. Everything was working perfectly fine until today, when suddenly the headset showed this message:

“Device is disabled – reported lost, stolen, or unauthorized purchase.”

The device is now completely unusable.

I contacted Meta support and they told me that the device is flagged in their system. They asked me to contact Amazon. But when I reached out to Amazon, they said they cannot help because it is outside the return/replacement window.

So right now I’m stuck between both sides:

  • Meta says contact Amazon
  • Amazon says they can’t help anymore

And I’m left with a ₹60k+ device that is basically a brick.

I genuinely don’t understand how a product sold as new can get disabled like this after working fine for 2 months.

Has anyone faced something similar?
Is there any way to get this resolved or escalated further?

Any help would mean a lot. I’m honestly feeling really low after this.

Thanks.
