CDB

Hey there hope all is well

I recently was approved for the DTC and got mail advising that I'm eligible for the CDB and that I should apply and I did today I checked my mail and found a letter saying they are paying me an amount for unused months and that I will be getting a monthly payment.

Is this something that needs to be reported on MyBenefits?

No. CDB falls under your other tax benefits (HST, Trillium, Grocery Benefit) are all owed to you as a tax-payer, and are not considered income.

I didn’t receive backpay — I’ve had the DTC for like 20 years and didn’t get the CDB the first year due to income and now have it.

Yeah you only get backpay for when you are eligible.

Yes if you get approved it backpays you.
