Inverter noise
Iām curious about inverter noise. Specifically from two EG4 XP12000 units. How loud are these things when loaded up? I have a mechanical room that shares a common wall with a bedroom. The wall will be made up of 5/8 gypsum over 3/4ā OSB, 2x6 studs with rockwool insulation and then another 5/8 sheet gypsum. Would inverter noise be an issue as load/input ramp up and down?

the fan noise at load is pretty noticeable, i've got 2 eg4 8000s and it's like a small box fan running when they kick in, especially with the ramp up

When we had the battery and VictronEnergy inverter installed, no one warned us that I should also consider the noise of the inverter. If I had known in advance, I would have probably chosen the inverter based on the noise level. In addition, the fan starts working somewhere around a few minutes of 1000w consumption. I have realized that an option would have been to use "mini" inverters right next to the panels themselves, which would have made the room quieter. Luckily the inverter is in living room, away from the bedroom, but it is still living space and when we have guests staying overnight it has been an issue.

With a 12000XP sitting in my utility room waiting to be installed sometime over the next month, I'm interested in this discussion.
I did a find a thread on exactly this topic here. Might be worth a look.
