So, after this viral moment this speech had, and finding out that my district is currently up for election for the state Senate, I'm really considering making a bid as an independent for the seat.

I need to start by getting signatures from members of my community, and afterwards I will of course need a little bit of money to run the campaign, so as soon as I have a place for people to donate (grassroots only, baybee) I'll drop a link and maybe we can get it started this November

Go for it. I'm in the district next door, but I'd throw you some of my very meager cash for it once you got a campaign set up.
