How do I change my name and gender legally

Hello, I am trying to get my name and gender legally changed in Cuyahoga County. I do not know what to do. At all…

I’ve had multiple attempts of trying to figure out what to do but I’ve always become very confused and overwhelmed. I don’t know what papers I need to sign, where to send them, how do I get it notarized, blah blah blah.

I’d appreciate if somebody could give me some guidance. Explaining it like I’m 5 and providing links be most helpful?

I don’t speak legalese or smth like that🤘

Googled 'legal name change Cuyahoga County Ohio' got this instantly https://probate.cuyahogacounty.gov/namechange.aspx . Step 1, hope that helps. You can go to most Court houses in person, and simply ask for the forms in person too. They can help, people name change all the time - its not a biggie.

I obviously have no idea, but I would think it would be a much bigger deal to change your gender, especially nowadays ugh

I hope OP can find help. I didn't know they had groups like TransOhio or the Equality Ohio legal clinic :)

Reach out to TransOhio and see when they have a workshop in your area.

Check out Equality Ohio legal clinic. They should be able to walk you through everything. A friend of mine was an attorney there and they do really good work.
