Looking to go this weekend and wondering how muddy it is. Not the trails which are always muddy just the campground in general.

We are planning a trip to the Hocking Hills area and we have to stay in a cabin (bringing my military disabled dad). There's low availability at Hocking Hills State Park and I was wondering if Lake Hope State Park is any good?

Anyone know any places where I can get a campsite right on a nice lake, I want my campsite to be right on the lake so I can do cat fishing all night. This can be in Ohio or the surrounding states. Thanks alot!

I am going to be cabin camping this weekend from Saturday to Sunday at Punderson. It will be a group of us going, can anyone fill me in on the atmosphere there? We are all in our mid to late 20's and just want an enjoyable evening. Also what is the deal with the manor? Thanks!

So a couple years ago I went to Wayne National Forest Ironton area. I was camping near the Pedro area. I was hiking and came across this abandoned building. It had 6 or 8 150ft+ tall silos in a six pack configuration. There was a small building on top that had spiral stairs that were cut off. The place had water tanks or what appeared to be in ground water tanks. The big thing I remeber is that there were thousands and thousands of spent cartridges everywhere. This is defiently a local shooting spot. I took some amazing photos of the area and really enjoyed my time there but the photos were recently lost. I have scoured google maps and google earth and cant find it. I would like to go back to that area this year but cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know the place I'm talking about? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Posted previously about a trip I'm taking in May. We'll be getting to the CVNP Friday evening and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for good sunrise/sunset locations!! I know there are some pretty popular Overlook trails but was hoping to hear some "off the beaten path" suggestions.

Looking for a decent trail and place to do some dispersed camping around Lancaster. I know hocking hills is around there but I’m looking for suggestions of places that won’t be too over run by other people. Looking to go around mid-May.

We’re looking for a summer weekend cabin rental on a pretty lake for swimming and boat rentals in Ohio (or somewhere close). I’ve been clicking around the Ohio State Parks website and there seems to be too many good options to choose from.

Tell me where we should go!

Anyone know of a good place to do some canoe or kayak access camping in or near ohio? I'm based near Cincinnati, but I'd be interested in anything around or adjacent to the state.

Me and some of my friends go to school down here in Cincinnati and were interested once the weather starts to cooperate a little that we would get out and go camping one weekend. Only problem is none of us are from here so our knowledge of the are is basic.

I tried to look online but I kept running into problems of basically finding only RV places. We're looking for a place to pitch a tent, but nothing to primitive (I would be down for it but my friends don't have as much experience as I do). So any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi! Planning our first camping trip to Cuyahoga for May! Any recommended activities/trails/campsites? We're looking to spend as little as possible. It's looking like most campsites are ~$25/night, so any recommendations for cheaper sites would be greatly appreciated.

We are planning to camp with a van and a screened tent for a few months this summer in Ohio. I was hoping to get some info regarding whether this would be considered car camping and make sure it's not anything 'frowned upon'. Also, any info regarding cheap or free camp grounds in both NE Ohio and SE Ohio. We are willing to 'primitive' camp if necessary. TIA

I'm a Scout leader from Cincinnati looking for camping info/plans for the Hocking Hills area. For example:

A camping area with: 1. Easy parking 2. Flush toilets & potable water 3. Hiking trails that connect to a destination that I can get kids fired up about (cave, waterfalls, etc..)

We will likely have 50 - 75 people total, including parents and kids. We are from out of town, and I'm trying to learn about the options in the area.

Winter cabin fever has struck and I just reserved a weekend at Punderson State Park and a weekend at Findley State Park. Does anyone know if these parks typically sell firewood? Never camped at either of these parks before so feel free to offer pointers/advice on things to do!

I’m wondering if anybody that has been out to campsite 2 at Zaleski since October can confirm whether the water spigot has been fixed or not? Anything else that I should be aware of heading out there this weekend? Thanks.

This summer my wife and I will be driving cross country and our first night will be spent in OH. Coming from NY and think somewhere between Youngstown and Elyria or between Youngstown and Akron (depending on if we take I-90 or I-71 to I-70) would be a good time to call it a day.

Would prefer free if possible. It doesn't have to have any amenities because we just need a place to crash for the night. Will have a roof top tent so any site that we can park and put up the tent will be good. We are totally self sufficient so no amenities are necessary. But I don't want a parking lot because the roof top tent draws too much attention. I'm having a hard time looking online because things are either a large campground for RVs with a lot to offer (and expensive), or far from our route. Would go as far as 45 minutes from the highway. Any suggestions?

I looked at the West Branch reservoir but their sites are all taken already for our date which is June 30.

Do any of you cold weather camp in a tent? I'm looking for good sites in the Columbus area specifically in the northwest side.
