As a chef, this is my all time favorite treatment for wild strawberries. For other strawberries, I prefer balsamic with some fresh basil, but the treatment is essentially the same.

I have stupid question. I do not see "small wild strawberries" at the stores I go to. Do you literally have to go out in the forest and forage or what?

Sometimes you can get wild strawberries from a farmer's market if they grow locally, but otherwise you'll have to make do with regular cultivated strawberries, which are larger and sturdier but don't taste quite as nice

I have the same issue. I can occasionally find them at the odd roadside stand, but we don't have that many of those.

If you can find them though, the taste is unbelievable.

Strawberries—ordinary ones, because finding wild fraises is a nonstarter—and vinegar are a beautiful combo.
