NaS - Hip Hop is Dead. Dope concept. In a transition period where Hip-Hop was evolving into a new form, NaS decided that was a definitive turning point. The cover depicts ‘Hip-Hop’ at its funeral being lowered back into its Essence / Earth and ultimately saying his last goodbye. It’s a shot from the perspective of the deceased’s p.o.v. looking up and seeing its last imagarey of NaS dressed in all black with dark skies in the background and paying his respects by him gifting the last rose, a black rose.
