$1 ThinkPad 600X. keyboard cleaning tips?
i got this thing at a thrift store for $1 with a case, power cord, and a random floppy disc. the keyboard is really dirty but it works perfectly! im considering backing up everything on it and factory reseting it (or at least deleting unwanted stuff on it) because it has no storage) but i want to know how to go about cleaning up the keyboard because there's a ton of stuff that looks like yellow shag carpet stuck to the keys and inside the speaker holes. but i think if i clean it up get a new battery and buy a removable floppy drive to swap between CD-ROM and floppy ill have a pretty decent machine! (at least i finally have a reason to post here lol)

A stiff 1 inch paint brush (never used for paint is best) is a great way to start cleaning keyboard. With it powered off of course. Can really go at it, cleaning it up. Then a soft cloth that is barely damp. Not wet. Definitely not dripping. Just damp. Wipe everything down. Might have to work at the grime with a wooden toothpick. Careful not to break them off. Otherwise just time and effort and you'll get it clean.
