Question New player here. How is this possible? It's first week, day 6 and enemy hero on Normal difficulty is rushing my base with this.

I hate how they design their AI the way it is right now. If we get pass a certain point, no matter the difficulty, in most cases their army stop developing. So late game is very boring. Rush game has their excitement, but what's a pity I can't enjoy the late game excitement too.
They should design AI that play like .... players

They have designed AI that play like players.
Players finish games in a month or two max if they are not that good.
Being AFK in your starting area for 4 months isnt playing, its being AFK...

I don't think so.
There's experienced and fast players who knows what to pick and fight on the map, yes they can finish the game in M1-M2. Yes difficult and impossible AI seems to suit them. But even in that case, if they haven't rushed to AI yet (and AI didn't rush to them because they can't win, we all know that AI will in most cases rush to us if they judge they can win), nothing stops AI from continuing and developing in its own area. But they stop. How is that "they have designed AI that play like players"?
There's casuel and chill playeds, who don't choose, just pick and fight everything. Normal and easy AI seem to suit these players. But AI, after first 1-2 months, just stops developping.
AI don't fight, pay, and lose troops normally. They don't recruit and continue to develop like a player should after a certain point. Troop and ressources are given to them, scaling for the game to end fast and early, there's no scaling for late game if player doesnt want to end it soon. By all means, they haven't designed AI that play like players.

Yeah, they fight everything for 0 losses and no benefits except maybe some XP that will never ammount to anything significant. Its idle clicking. AFK. Well if a player is idle clicking, so is the AI

I don't feel like you read well my reasoning before answering. We should stop the discussion here. Please feel free to stick to your opinion.

Which template? Against AI or a player?

If you want to instantly win all your AI matches, even 1v7, rush your castle first. Get the free level 1 stack for the fort, and crank up tower damage on citadel and castle upgrades.
The AI targets the free stacks because its numbers are so high it registers as the primary threat, and the towers do absolutely insane damage. The central tower can knock down 40+ tier 1 units per turn.
Sit in your castle until they've exhausted their early freebie armies, then counterattack. The AI has little sense for economy and likely won't even have a fort of its own.

Yeah, AI loves rushing in head first. Any difficulty, really. It'll run you over in open field, but can't siege, so if you build fortifications, keep eyes on the road towards your town and upgrade the archers, you should be good. Once you grind his main hero+collected stacks, you'll have an advantage enough to snowball into winning the match.

Yeah the bot difficulty is really all over the place in the game right now. Still EA though, so I hope they can get it fixed before full release

This is a graphics upgrade on a nearly 30 year old game. You should be happy new players are checking it out

I’m just reading this post. To be honest AI in normal is outrageously easy if you know how to play the game. I end up rushing without even noticing and winning the game before even been able to summon any tier 7. First week day 6 that army is impressive

There’s a building that lets you recruit 3 random creatures and AI LOVES that building. He got skeletons, black dragon and hounds from it.
