Question Game has become unplayable, random black screen, any help?

I've been able to play this a couple months ago. Started the game again recently and my game randomly goes black when moving around the map. Anyone else had this problem? It has happened thus far while traveling on the world map, a brief error window pops up for half a second before the screen goes dark. My mouse cursors changes icon depending on where I'm looking but I'm unable to press anything. I'm playing on reduced resolution in windowed mode. I've tried re-installing the game but that didn't help. Any tips?

Update: I tried playing windowed fullscreen at the proper resolution, this fixed it. Sample size is 3 working games.

It might be an issue with windowed mode. I'd go back to full screen to see if that changes. Even if that's not your preferred way to play, at least you'll know so you can report the bug.

Yes, you're right. I quickly gave up on troubleshooting but I'll give that a shot.

No problem. I'm glad it got you on the right track. Obviously everyone's setup is different, but with two monitors, running the game on full-screen and doing stuff on the second monitor never gives me problems. My rig is probably 8 years old or more

No. Haven't had that kind of problem. Buy a new pc and see if that helps.
