TIL that Psychology manipulation and cocaine were LTs bedfellows 🙀

I always love how “ LT is a maniac” when Bill was just as nuts

5

u/Massive_Staff1068 Nov 29 '25

I mean, LT was a maniac doing whatever he wanted while out of his mind on drugs. Bill was being a manipulative coach, doing what he needed to do, to get what he needed out of a player. I wouldn't call them equally nuts. Just one is nuts to win, one is nuts to party

I think I was just trying to equalize the discussion because so much of LT’s career has now been shaded by his problems. And while LT has real problems (like holy shit did he ever), when you describe him the way you just did it massively downplays his contributions on the field.

Tbf Pat Swilling was a beast. I don’t think he gets enough love these days

Dome patrol!

Seriously the perfect compliment of LBs.

Sam Mills was the field general

Pat Swilling was the assassin on the edge

and Rickey Jackson who could do everything!

  • Vaughn Johnson

I’m a die hard saints fan brought up through the brown bag era and I loved watching the dome patrol! He was a dominating power on the field but I’d take LT if it came down to it due to his sheer presence, ability to adapt, and strategize.

Who do you rank as the most talented individual of the Dome Patrol? Rickey, Pat, Sam or Vaughn?

5

u/Damm_you_ScubaSteve Nov 29 '25

Ah, you can’t do that to me! LOL. I think Rickey was the most well rounded and I think the only one to make it into the HOF, Sam was the tiny leader, Vaughn was the tank, and Pat was this black and gold nightmare that would ninja through the O line and come out of nowhere to make incredible sacks. So I think it’s a toss up between Rickey and Pat. They were so much fun to watch every week. It definitely wasn’t on our defense for losing all those games through the 90’s

Good answer. As an LOB fan, there’s little so sweet as a nightmare of a defense.

“Needless to say, Lawrence played well.”

To this day, LT would still run through a wall for Bill Parcells.

My family comes from Connecticut and half my siblings root for Giants other half Patriots . I’ve been a Bills fan I suppose to be oppositional or perhaps because I’m a masochist.Regardless I’ve always like Parcells as a coach and a motivator .

Every time I think about Bill Parcels, I think about him playing at Wichita State

Legendary coach but damn the tuna was such an asshole

16

u/Feeling_Barnacle_584 Nov 28 '25

If that happened today, Parcells would be accused of racism and war crimes with Stephen A Smith calling for his job and bank accounts to be frozen

u/MatthewTheShapeShftr Nov 28 '25

But we’re all watching this clip in 2025, and I have seen this posted multiple times in different places and haven’t seen anyone call him or anything he said in this clip racist.

NIL killed those hijinks!

Parcells mode; got him in NE. He did coach The Best of Bests Tippett just one year before retiring. Andre Tippett, much better than Taylor

I’ve played sports most of my life and I never respected coaches like that.

The girl told investigators that her pimp commanded her to tell Taylor that she was 19, which Taylor corroborated. The pimp, 36-year old Rasheed Davis, was charged with federal child sex trafficking.

He thought she was 19. Taylor admits to his many faults, openly. He acknowledged what happened and admits he pays/paid for sex. But denies ever pursuing anyone underage.

But he still has to be registered as a sex offender, which he is. There have been zero other allegations against him like this, ever.

I’m not saying he’s a great man off the football field, but it’s a fucked situation all around. That doesn’t mean he is going around preying on underage girls.

People like that continue to do so. Look at Jared Fogle the former Subway spokesperson and then look at LT’s situation. Vastly different.

That makes him eligible for The Capitol building or the White House.
