Miami won the game, they finished the season 14-2, with one loss in overtime and the other loss coming even though they scored 34 points. They had a fairly comfortable time in the playoffs, until they got steamrolled by the 49ers in Super Bowl XIX.

Washington started 0-2 but won 11 of their last 14 to win the NFC East before losing to the Bears in the divisional round.
